real help for modified sts
so whats the real advantage of running the stock manifolds on the sts set up????i know the manifolds retain heat alot better but what is the real world diff in rpm??? lets say a sts car with headers doesn't reach full spool till 4000 rpm...everything being equal and only changing to a stock manifold what would be the rpm diff....would it reach full spool at 3000 rpm??? if the change from headers to manifolds is only a couple hundred rpm it really would not be worth the pain of changing...has any1 made the change from headers back to manifolds and have real proof of the diff....dyno or track times
Jk !. Go with the stock folds and u will love it. It was a differance of night and day between my midlenths wrap and my 02 folds wrap. I can say this when boost hits on my car it hits hard. I seen a differance in spool rate also she picks up fast around 3k. I also get 12 psi in first gear with 3.73 so yes stock folds are worth it.

You don't see so much difference on the dyno or at the track, because you are spooling the turbo before you make the pull or the pass.

my idea is to put stock c5 z06 manifolds ( i believe they flow better and will fit on my ta ) into a custom y pipe into the single pipe that leads into the turbo...the manifolds will b ceramic coated as well as all the hot piping...out of the manifolds what size piping would u suggest going with??? 3in out of the manifold to the y then to 4in or 3in the whole way????
