People who ditch traction control, obviously have no idea about what its intended for.

2 similar cars around a track......for about 90+% of drivers, the car with a well setup TCS will be a lot faster, than the car without, and far far safer to drive.
I highly doubt every member here, are among the best drivers in the world to say they would be better ??
It would be a bit like saying a dizzy and carb, are better at controlling ign/fuel, than a modern efi system.
Or that they could outbrake a car with ABS, better and safer than a car without during an emergency situation.

Factory fit TCS systems are usually crap, and cut nearly all power at the first hint of wheelspin. Cheap...but effective in terms of safety, which is their primary concern.

Proper systems will cut minimal amounts of power, to try and maintain optimum traction at all times, allowing full use of the cars power....safely, and fast.

Ive never driven a car with Racelogic....but I know a few guys who have, and I have never heard a bad word said about it.

Very interesting, but very pricey to. Launch control/traction control unit is 850 pounds. Put a good tire on it, get your suspension setup. If its cold, or wet/snow drive a different car.

Wow some of the post border on complete ignorance. I think if F1 drivers got an advantage from race traction control then all of us could benefit from it. Formula one did not ban traction control because it does not work, you guys are thinking of a factory TCS which pales in comparison to a race sytem.

You clearly have never driven a f-body with traction control lol

Besides, cars don't go "around" a track, they go "down" the track. Steering wheels are just for holding on to and making small corrections to keep the car going straight lol

Seems like a neat system. If you end up buying it, let us know how it works. I would like this if its smooth for a few cars I have driven, and I'm only 48!!

a guy on the Vette forum is installing this on his C6. i will post a link later.

by the way, this is a tried and tested system! alot of roadcourse guys over here use them to great effect! plus the hill climb / sprit guys also use this or similar system (often built into the standalone ECU they use) on thier Hyabusa powered 300+kg race cars.

Umm unless I am wrong the ams 1000 can't go under external gate boost anymore than my eboost 2 can? So not sure how the ams 1000 would be useful. You can ramp in boost with it or the eboost2 by gear and rpm but if you are limited by not being able to go under o minimum gate spring boost then please explain. If you go too small on gate spring you can't get up to decent boost in higher gears and or rpm ranges.

Example to hit 20psi max boost might need 10psi minimum gate springs. So ramping would look like say 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 or say limit it to 10psi in first, 12 in second , 14 in third, 16 in fourth , 18 in fifth just making examples when really it would be great to be able to go say 5 in first, 8 in second, 12 in third, 14 in fourth..again just making examples.

Or can the ams 1000 let you go under external gate spring boost? And man where do you mount that fugly ams head unit. I just couldn't see where I would put that thing. The eboost 2 fits so nicely in the vents.

Ive used it since 04, and it will 60' 1.8 in the rain in standing start mode.

The racelogic is very nice. It does have its downfalls, but for the price, its hard to beat.

Being able to accelerate a 700 hp car in the rain, or on slick pavement, hearing the box do its magic is pure bliss

And yes, it was stated, but cutting 100% of the fuel is the key. It will not cause a lean condition.

Traction control is good for rainy days, getting caught in some unexpected snow or when you have no other choice than to let the wifey drive your car...

It would be impossible to modulate boost enough, or fast enough for true traction control.
