Default dont know what kit to get... help!!!

need advice and opinions on what turbo kit to get for my 2001 camaro z28. pretty much stock as far as engine goes. just ordered the whole entire suspension and k member this weekend (umi 20% off sale lol), i got an ls7 clutch with pro 5.0 shifter, im ordering a 90mm tb, gms mass air, fast 90mm intake, and 42lb injectors depending on the turbo. its a street/strip car.

any recommendations? websites, prices, warranties, etc...

thanx

Depending on what your goals are you were probably better buying a turbo type k member. 90mm tb, gms mass are and fast 90 intake are not needed. Unless you have a large budget you can make enough power to break a ringland on a piston with stock parts. M6 or A4?

im trying break into the 500-600hp brackets. the reason im getting evrything else like the intake and what not is because later on like in a year or so i plan on rebuilding the engine and stroking it, bigger cam, heads, the whole 9 yards. but for the time being i want the turbo kit that will give me 500+ with the little i have at the moment. boosting from 8-10lbs.

also can you guys leave me links of where to look or pm's

In my opinion those things should be left off the list, you can make big power on cheaper intakes....even stock. If I was going to spend that kind of money I would do a carb intake and elbow with 90mm tb.

The mass air is definately not a good purchase considering the best type of tuning will not use one at all.

nice advice. i'll prolly just keep the ls6 intake and stock mass air since it wont be needed later on. just need a kit i suppose.

+1

I would take the money you were going to spend on the 90/90 and go ahead and get your fuel system out of the way.

black98ws6ta has a kit in the works that would be perfect for you. It just made mid 500's at the tires on a stock LS1 with 8-9psi if i recall.

There is a aps kit for 4400 for sale thought just saw recently. That is cheap and pretty sure its unopened. Yeah it was on ls1.com in the western section.

The other advice was good advice. For now you can run the ls6 intake and stock maf and likely will go up to a 2 bar maybe 3 bar later speed density or if you stay lower power you can use a maf.

The aps kit is designed to work on stock setup. You should spend money on 60 pound injectors over 42 more room to grow. At least a single intank fuel setup but a nice twin will also give your room to grow. Aps has a nice one but its pricey getting a lonnies one for around same money as aps wants for just their base part . Their 1000rwhp add on part is more money yet and dont' even have a fuel filter included!

I also unlike some can see a point in the fast 90/90 or 92/92 and better heads ,bigger engine displacement, upgraded cam but that stuff can be added later or when you do up a new engine if you want to go for way more power.

800 or so rwhp is doable with the aps kit. There is thread on that right now.Not on stock engine of course at least need forged pistons and better piston pins. Better rods would be optional but recommended. Stock cranks are very strong.

TTi race kit if you want to upgrade in the future. Just run the LS6 intake and stock tb. Save your money for the fuel system, a good SD tune and for a forged engine in the future.

sounds nice. im keeping the ls6 and stock maf and tb till i decide to to forge the internals and put the heads and cam set up in. gonna just grab a turbo kit and roll with that for awhile. i'll just get a better fuel system 42lb or bigger injectors, fuel rails, fuel pump, etc... i'll be happy with 500+ rwhp.

I would go straight for 60lb injectors. Thats what i have in both my cars right now. If you are going to have forged internals and a nice turbo kit you will soon outgrow 42's.
