Where to get a good MAP signal?

Default Where to get a good MAP signal?

Where is everyone getting their MAP signal from for the hose barb style 2 & 3 bar MAP sensors? Can I T that signal and use it for other things like my wastecgate or is that not a good idea? If youve got pics I wouldnt mind seeing them.

i have a vacuum manifold teed on my brake booster line that i ran my 3 bar from and worked fine

Is that a pretty typical place that people use? Just dont want any problems with vaccum hoses coming off, 2 of my friends had that happen and it pretty much destroyed their engines.

i think its typical. The vacuum nipples are barb fittings and then i also zip tie them as well

I've seen some people tap the back of the hole in the intake (I think 1/8npt) and run a vacuum line direct to the MAP.

I don't like that idea, too many crevices for the shavings to hide and then get sucked into the combustion chamber.

I'd also like some pictures if you have any available. Are you putting the T visible on the brake booster hose or are you doing it closer to the rear of the intake?

You could get 99% out the material out. Its not going to be like metal shavings and be small flakes, plus the motor would consume the small plastic particle and **** them out without any problem.

For a safe, FI tune, I like the tube to go to the MAP only, and be a thickwall tube, ziptied at both ends, and be as short as possible. I'd tap and do the seperate hose thing.
