85 MM LS2 or larger MAF?
Hey all. I have a '72 Vette project that that has a LS1 with LS6 heads, Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam, and a C5 Maggie supercharger. I put a LS2 snout and a 90mm manual UMI throttlebody on the maggie, and was wondering if I should go to a larger MAF.
I have the 85MM LS2 MAF, but was wondering if I should bump it up to a larger one like the Lingenfelter 100MM unit. Will 5mm make much of a difference?
Some pics and vid...the intake is temporary until I find out what I can do to clear the hood:

Car should be painted next month....black, and not matte though it is very tempting.
So 90mm or larger would be a wise investment? Best brand?

I've thought about that option too, but I've heard it's not really necessary with the Maggie and that for street driven cars MAF is more flexible. Other then looks of the intake what would be the other advantages?

use the Haltech 103.5mm maf with the GM LS3/7 card style maf insert, this is not just for flow, but for superior tuning. With these new maf's S.D. is no longer the way to go imho... I've spent tons of time since '05 working on FI tuning through different MAF's on my setup, my setup carburetes flawlessly...

OK, so I know the car has to be tuned for that, but will the LS1 computer work with the LS7 card style MAF or do I need a LS3 computer or a patch?
What exactly is the g/sec stand for as I keep seeing it reference in MAF threads, but no explanation as to what it is. So you think speed density is the way to go?

There are work arounds (IFR/MAF/VE scaling) to run a MAF past traditional limit (lie to the PCM about real airflow) but SD IS snappier than running a MAF on GenIIIs. This is part of the draw of the S/C is the instant hit, and SD works well with that. SD drives very well also.

Sorry to ask but what is SD? I searched for this topic " 100mm MAF sensors" cause at the track I am running forced induction with spray and my tuner said to look into a lingenfelter 100mm maf because my stock one isnt keeping up with my car. I was just checking to see what is the best route and what SD Means? thanks
