cutting out front grill

Default cutting out front grill

I have a camaro and iam looking to cut out the front grill for airflow across the intercooler,what did you guys use and any tips? thanks

dremel with a small cutoff wheel. once it gets going, it cuts through the plastic like butter, literally. just make sure you use masking tape and cut down the middle of the tape so that you don't ruin the paint on the part of the bumper that isn't getting cut off. i did that on mine and it worked great. looked mean as hell with "braces" on the front of my catfish

I wanted it to be not so noticeable and have more support for the bumper.

I used a dremel with the cut off wheel. Just as said before, tape it up and go to town. It cuts through it like butter.

A small saw-zall, didn't really work to well. Use a dremel.

Exactly how I did mine. Turned out fine. Took about 3 hours total.

I put a mesh grill on the front of mine afterwards. Pics below:

Without grill cover (Mine's the one in the middle)


With the mesh grill cover:

a hooked razer blade works good with out hurting the paint.. just tape a straight line

I cut mine out with razor knife. Super easy once you get the hang of it.
I bought an el cheapo ebay grill, it looks really nice.
