8 sec Nitrous guy going FI??
I'm getting to the limit of my cage cert (8.50), and I don't know if I want to 25.5 the car just yet.
Nitrous is fun, but obviously not the best choice for a car I'd like to cruise on the street a little and take to the track (it's just too loud and radical right now). Constant plug changing with the nitrous gets annoying as well. I can't run on the street with the nitrous plugs (they will foul).
The issue is I don't want the car to go any slower than it does now. I'm not really worried about the local classes as my work schedule keeps me away from running any series.
I'm at a standstill with my car - do I go further with the nitrous, or do I take a step back and go FI. I would either run a procharger F1, or a large single 91truck manifold setup. Has to be an air to air intercooler, and *somewhat* streetable. I'm not talking 3 hour road trips, just 30 minute cruises.
I'm leaning towards a procharger setup (if there is a 10 rib system out there). I have all the tools needed to fabricate a truck manifold setup if need be.
So, to ask the FI vets here:
What system would you run - If procharger, could I get by with the procharger setup without running a cog? If turbo, what size with a 402?
Remember, this is a 3400 lb car on radials. No 6 bolt heads, and a hyd roller if possible. Stock PCM if possible. I like doing more with less
you gotta figure a complete f1 setup is gonna cost you almost 9,000 when said and done. of course you can sell all your nitrous stuff and motor to save on costs. s91 can support over 1,000hp and can get you in the 8.50 range and be vary streetable.
just my .02 cents
just a thought.
Chris.
When we ran Justin Burcham's mustang at a local race, he was using a procharger and nitrous with a lot of success. He trapped in the 160+ range with a "streetcar."
Another option would be to use the turbotech "race" kit hot parts with an air to air intercooler?
with no problems.

seriously though, i have sene guys pushing 30psi on 4bolt setupsand not pushing any water! you just have to think outside the box....
they ran o-ringed block/heads. tere is a thread on here about it. it was a guys from Europe (cant remeber what contry).
Plus with a Turbo/SC and N2O setup you can have a driveable car but with some added go at the track.
