Spray meth before the intercooler?
Any cons to spraying pre-compressor? Increased impeller erosion, slower spool (mass of liquid added), slower peak impeller speed (turbo), increased transmission & belt load (blower), increased load on impeller possible exceeding design limitations?
Not sure how significant any of that would be. Has it been considered?
Thanks,
Scott.
I start my spray at 5 pounds of boost & it is spraying 100 percent by 15 pounds of boost with the largest nozzle that came with my kit.
2 quarts will last me maybe 4 or 5 1/4 mile runs.
if i spray 50/50 water meth in to the throttle body
it could damage the water to air inter cooler
and leak water in to the engine
im i wright in assuming this
The Methanol can easily cool the boost to sub-ambient temps.
The intercooler will be limited to cooling to ambient temps.
So, you can use the intercooler to get the boost to approach ambient, THEN spray in the Meth to get the boost sub-ambient.
On my car, I was getting IAT's 10 - 20 deg colder than ambient at 20+ psi boost. Had I put an intercooler after the Meth, it would have been actually adding heat to the boost.
