Default Converter on mild FI

A converter is a must now but i am unsure on what to go with. The car is set up as a weekend street/strip car with more strip in mind. My current set up is just south of the 500 mark with plans to run in the low 500s by next fall. Any one want to recommend a good converter and stall? This is on a 60 trim TTI car with a 228/232 114LSA and 3.42 rear on BFG 315s.

I personally would still talk to chance or coan, and have them spec you a converter.

I have seen great results from yank and vig on boosted and non boosted cars. Both seem very high quality and really don't see any big need for a special custom converter. I am going think for Yank PY3400e in my build. I have vig in my NA 96z and very happy with it.

My buddy just ordered a 10" $450 converter from PTC for his turbo car. The 9.5" was $900, but they recommended the 10" for his setup. We should have some results in a couple of weeks.

I went with a vig 3000 stall with a "turbo stator". That was really nice around town. Then i had that one restalled to a 3600 thripple disk. That one launches nicer and has almost the same around town manners.

For the little extra cost would it be a good idea to have one built to spec. I am swapping out my stock 4L60 for a built RPM stage 5. As most of you know a built 4L60 is not cheap to start with and i would like to get her right the first time around.

It's always best to get one built to your specific setup, get it right the first time.

I currently run a Vig 3200 and plan to still run it in a my built 4l60e. I've had good luck with it and have heard good things with it at these power levels as well. I'll be procharged pushing similar numbers (500-540rwhp).

The Yank PY3400 has served me very well. Feels stock out on daily drives but flashes violently when the right pedal is stepped on.
