Default Powerdyne??

I found a used Powerdyne setup for a LS1 F body and am interested in it. I was told the unit was rebuilt by superchargerrebuilds. Its supposedly a complete kit and I could get it for 1200. Is it worth it? Reliability issues? My car makes almost 400WHP now and would like to hit 500WHP.
Any recommendations or things I should look for or any advice would be appreciated...
Thanks,
Evan

Reliability issues?
YES.

The belt drive in these blowers is terrible. Also, if it is the same blower they use in the Mustang kits, I dont think it will even support 400 rwhp.
We put one on a 306" Ford that made just over 300rwhp on motor, and it made a whopping 375rwhp with 7 psi. He has broken the belt 2X already, and is now selling the whole kit after having it rebuilt twice.

Find a Vortech/Paxton or ProCharger setup and you will be much happier.

they will make 430-450 reliably.

try to push it beyond that and you snap belts.

I had one for about 2 years and had zero issues with it.

my buddy had his for about the same time frame, no issues, until he tried to push beyond the 6-7psi they can reliably make on our motors. (snapped belts trying to overspin the blower)

my brother had one on his 5.0 mustang making 430rwhp for about 5 years, no issues.

for intro to FI at a price point of $1000 I like them.

for your goal of 500rwhp, it's the wrong blower.

I completly agree. Powerdynes are complete junk.
