GM High Tech Perf Down for the Count?
Mods please feel free to move this where it belongs.
Just got word from a reliable inside source that GMHTP magazine has ended pubilcation as of Feb 09. I don't know if this is new news or not but it is to me so I though I'd share. So what other mag showcases the LSx series engines and vehicles? With the popularity of the LSx based stuff, it's a shock that none exist (that I know of).

No way, if this is true I'm gonna be really bummed out, was a great magazine and the one that I looked forward to most out of my subscriptions. Chevy High Performance does some stuff with LSx engines, I really liked that GMHTP dedicated most of the mag to LSx stuff though made for great reading.

Well hold your horses guys. I asked what would happen to my subscription for the rest of the year and they replied "GMHTP is still going". So I asked them to explain to me why they said they had ceased publication and now -they're still going. I'm awaiting response.
So don't shoot the messenger. I'm just passing along info that I received.

Funny, I just spoke with the Editor yesterday and he assigned me three more vehicle shoots to do. Guess they are doing okay.
Here is some insider news however, they are closing the NJ offices down this week and the staff is relocating to a new office in Tampa, FL.

that mag was around before any ls site, at least for me.
good thing its still around, but ive alwyas thought it to a little lite, compared to other publications. such as 5.0 and mm&ff, super chevy etc.
they should now start including carb. lsx engines and buildups. i think that them being exclusively efi is holding them back, now that ther is so much carb. equipment for ls engines.
alot more racers use carbs over efi and more carb tech. would bring in more enthusiasts and racers imo.
ive been to a fun ford weekend, and i have to say a good portion of the racers use carb engines.
also most ford mags include alot of mixed tech. both efi, carb, n20, turbo, etc.
more so than the chevy mags

I assure you GMHTP is alive and well. We're actually moving to a new, larger facility with a dyno, shop and photo studio in Tampa, Florida. In addition, I will be announcing the hiring of my Tech Editor very soon.

Yeah, so the mix up was "High Tech Performance" which I guess is a magazine. I was submitting my new ride to GM High Tech Performance and they came back with; High Tech Performance has ceased publication as of Feb 09. I didn't know there was a "High tech perf" mag and never asked about one and they responded with that so it's obviously a knuckle headed mix up on their end. Sorry for the scare guys. GMHTP Lives ON!
