Default Another D1SC or F1C? Thread

Dont know which one I should go with? Want to trap mid to high 130s. Im guessing that would take high 700rwhp. I understand the D1SC will max at about 800rwhp. With my 402 I dont think it would take much to reach 800hp.

Heres the motor and other stuff.
4.005" Bore Manley Flat Top, -2cc
4.000" Stroke Callies Dragonslayer Crank
Callies Comp Star Rods
"Hell Fire" rings
Flowtech LSX Supermag 236/248 .615 (Blower Cam)
AFR 225 72cc Heads
Compression: 10.3:1
Nick Williams 90mm TB
Looking at Edelbrocks new intake(when will it be released?)-Only thing I need besides blower
Nasty Stage 3 Fuel System
Custom Front Mount intercooler/Piping
SLP 1 3/4 LTs into Custom 3" Duals out the back

The car has a Magnacharger on it now and its just not enough unless im spraying. I really want to go with the D1SC but dont know if I will reach my goals unless I spray again. Car is an M6. Anyone have similiar setups or can help out.

D1SC will come with intercooler and piping from procharger that will somewhat accomadate its power levels wich will be around + or - 750RWHP. F1C will need more custom work done to it including a bigger intercooler, bigger piping, not to mention a clutch ect., to reach those power levels upwards of 825RWHP+......it can be done and its worth it when your done, but it can be a headache anytime you start doing custom work........ Im using 120lbs injectors for my car right now with 18lbs of boost.....lol

well I trapped 136mph with my D1, a little 347 with stock heads and #13 of boost. I would think a D1 and a 402 could do it. You also need to think about what your future goals will be.

Thanks Steve!

I would go with the F-1A, it has the same volute diameter as the D-1SC, but puts out more airflow.

408 with AFR heads and our blower cam, and an F-1A.
With just warm temperature water in the air to water intercooler, and 17 degrees of timing, we got 834 rwhp. This was with the 5000 stall converter on drag slicks.

LS2/402 with AFR heads and our blower cam, and an F-1A. This is with a manual transmission and 14.4 psi of boost. Bob

Id personally get the F series blower. If your going to do it right then get it done the first time correctly. Since your worried about might having to spray again then just go to the F series. I hope this makes sense lol.

I vote D1sc. Look at KP's black car when it was z06 cam, etc. Similar to what he's building with the blue car now. I think you will be fine with the D1 and still make the power/trap speeds you want. And run a LS6 intake.....cheaper and will still flow for the power you want to make.

F series all the way... Yes you can even make power From a little P1, as I do.... but the F is the way to go...

F1A is a good choice but they are pretty loud, I assume its going on the GTO.

I ran 9.17 @ 149 with the D1SC at max impeller speed @ 7000rpm, 8.92 @ 152 with the F1A at max impeller speed at 7200rpm with a 347. LS6 intake, stock throttle body and one of EPP's 'blower' cams, I forget what it was 232/240 115 I think.

Either will make plenty of power..

Your compression is a little high and I would step the headers up to 1 7/8 kooks or something, those 1 3/4 SLP headers are going to hold you back some.

10.3:1 is about the lowest I can get unless switching out pistons. I know T-Bones Goat on here is running a 427 F1C with about the same compression, I think he makes in the 900rwhp range.
I was thinking about switching headers. I heard the smaller LTs would give me better torque? Any truth behind that?

You have a 402 with 1-3/4 headers and you're wondering if smaller tube headers would give you more torque? You have smaller tube headers already, you need to go up to 1-7/8 headers. You're going to make more low end torque than what you'll need anyway. Check out the video here of my car at the first LSX Shootout, and this was with a Powerglide. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...html?item=1469 Bob

Yeah I want to keep my front tires on the ground. If money permits, I will go up to 1 7/8 LTs.
