Using a 5.3 block for a 347
A friend of mine ran a 5.3L block bored out to make it a 347. I think WCCH and a guy named Rex had their hands on it. He ran it in his GMC Sierra with a Radix(?) blower. It ran real good before he sold it, he just kept breaking trannys.

thats what im talkin about! Not saying it cant be done on a aluminum lsx motor but this block is solid. Iron 6 bolt main block.. come on now. Thats also why i sold my lt1 and bought a 5.3. I have a feeling there gonna be the new "swap engine", not because there better then a ls1 but because you can make incrediable power on a motor you can pick up complete for $500 all day long!
There are several guys over on Perfomancetrucks.net, the sister site to here that have gone this route. It makes a very strong platform. I was gonna go that route with my 4.8 and a 5.3 crank till I found a smoking deal on a low mile LS1 short block.
BTW, The 5.3 is out made but 3 to 1 then any other LSx type motor
