Default engine girdle or callies billet main caps?

help me decide! leave any reasons y one would be better than the other, to keep the caps from walking or the motor from moving

depending on what your doing,i wouldnt do either,pinning the main caps will help more than anything.What hp are you planning on making?

Just pin the billet main caps and you will be fine.

the block and caps have to be machined-i've seen over 1500 hp with pins only on stock caps with no problems

This topic comes up ALL the time! Pin the stock caps! @ 900hp you probably dont NEED either to be honest. Girdles aren't worth a **** on these motors.2000hp lsx motors running around with no girdle.Pins are all you need.

I got both lol, Katech steel billet main caps and pinned, also have the engine girdle with custom studs, talk about over doing it lol

I did both cause I didnt want the engine to twist and I also didnt want the caps to walk on me. Its going to get resleeved by the way.

there are only 2 2000hp ls style engines that i know of-one is Paul Major's warhawk motor,the other is Jim Filipowski's lsx engine,i'm not sure if either one of these has a girdle or exactly what has been done in the bottom end.
everybody else has maybe 1800hp at best.

girdle was like 330 , custom arp studs were 170

If you got the money??? LOL Theres no such thing as over kill on a high HP engine !I did neither for my APS build which should be about 750 HP on 14 to 15 PSi and my buddys running the same set up on both of his Incon TT setups for over 5 years now with no problems with the lower end with just stock caps and ARP studs
