No, I took it off, but taking the old one out could be done with it on if you have small enough arms. You can try it with it on, and if you can't get then you just have to take it off.

LOL!!This is why i was just going to leave the stock one in the intake and take the wires and plug into an extention and route up to my custom made vac manifold !
If anyone knows where i can buy a longer extention wire let me know. Im talking about the stock wire that plugs into the map sensor itself from the stock harness! is the one ill need longer , then ill plug the adapter wire into that for the 2 bar map sensor!

So,Im guessing if im changing to the 2 bar, I can leave my stock map in there on the back of the intake with no problems??? as a plug?? so to speak! and run an extention wire from that stock plug up to where ever i decide on mounting my new 2 bar? Im just thinking why pull the intake for a sensor im never gonna use again that allready in place as a plug!

I'm thinking about making a small right up when I change mine out soon. I should be able to get good pics since I'm switching to an LS6 intake at the same time.

Nobodys said anything about just leaving the stock map in the intake as a plug so to speak if going to a 2 bar and relocating ?? So im guessing its ok? This way i dont have to pull the intake Just unplug from stock map, plug in new extention to where i mount my new 2 bar and im good to go, Right?

Sounds alright to me. You still are going to have to try and get your extension plugged in.

I believe Katech makes a MAP ext harness. It's made for using the L76 intake manifolds with stock f-body wiring harnesses so it's the length from the rear of the block to the front. Should give plenty of slack if your map sensor is still on the back of the manifold.

1 bar is 14.7 PSI at sea level this would be regular atmospheric pressure

2 bar is 29.4 PSI or 14.7 psi above atmospheric pressure

3 bar is 44.1 psi or 29.4 psi above atmospheric pressure

Honestly, I'm not sure. I would think it would start, you just wouldn't be able to utilize the sensor's ability to read higher levels. I can't start mine to find out because I swapped in bigger injectors, so mine may start, but won't run for long. Hopefully some of the current SD users can say if I'm wrong or not.

I can say from my own personal experience that having a 2 bar map in a 1 bar tune, my car didn't start. Loaded the 2 bar OS, fired right up.
