Intercooler question!

I had one of my turbos go out and oil made it to the intercooler qhat can I do or use to clean it out!Any suggestions?

I ve used gasoline a few times.....put in, slosh around, dump out....repeat. After you think you got clean, blow it out with compressed air and let sit out for awhile.

I wouldn't use gasoline, but I have used a diluted mix of degreaser(purple stuff) and sloshed it around. Is it common, well sometimes it happens. seals go out and other things happen.

I would use Simple Green before the Purple stuff (as in Superclean) as it destroys aluminum if any is left in there.

Have a radiator shop boil it out. We did that before with a GN intercooler.

I also used a little Dawn in warm water, then filled it twice with distilled water and drained. After draining it is ready to use - a little water into your motor won't do anything bad. I like distilled so there's no mineral deposits left.

Gasoline is an unsafe choice and if you backfired afterwards you might blow up something important, like your garage
