Well she starts up and runs. We broke her in today. Car wanted to feel strong but the damn belt is still slipping like mad
But all the long hours toiling away in the driveway finally paid off

Thanks Dirty, I don't know if the PCM is still learning or how long it takes to relearn things but I am having problems with it idling after I come to a stop when its at operating temp. It dies after I stop. My old tune for the B1 stock LS1 didn't do this at all. The battery was a little dead so I stuck it on the charger to see if this helps any. If not then I will check to all s/c hoses and the intake to see if I don't have a leak somewhere.

try raising the idle 100 rpm's or so. or just adjust the idle screw up a bit.

A cam that will be perfect size wise for a 372 CID beast like yours. Check your PMs*EDIT* your email

Dirty, I'm going to ATAP it tomorrow to see where the idle is at(mail order tune). If its too low, I will adjust the screw to see what happens.
Thanks,
J

Nice to see you got the new engine running frcefed98. Now when in the hell are you gonna get ride of that 10 bolt? I think ive decided on my new motor, im probably gonna go with a 408 stroker and some spray later on down the line. I miss having a FI car which was my last one, but seems to be too many problems with these FI LS1s and frankly I dont have the money right now.

Bos make that your email I edited my last post

Madd, thanks man, I will get rid of that poor lil 10bolt when it shoots both axles out on the ground. I was running ET drags on it 2 weeks before the engine tear down and it was holding its own 60ft were in the 1.59 range. I hear ya on the FI problems. I hate the belt slip this ATI kit has. I think I have it nailed though. I found the perfect sized belt that is in pre-stretch mode in the garage now. It barely fits the MMS CP and the 3.2 s/c pulley. So slip should be limited with this thing. I'll post up if the pre-stretch tool I fabbed up did the trick.

Noyzee, thanks man, its a 348. Nothing crazy ci wise. I just hope it makes some power and outdoes the stock LS1 B1 cam'ed, stock headed bullet it is replacing. We will see, just have to get the belt to stop slipping

Thanks Ryan, compression ratio should be @9.1-1. I hope to get 15psi when the belts cooperate with the pulleys they are suppose to be riding on.lol

Bos-I have the MMS CP I can't remember the size to save my life right now I think it is 7.7XX or 7.8XX I'm running a gatorback 4060395 with the 3.2 pulley. This belt was a bitch to put on I had it "pre-stretching" for two days on the the engine hoist to get the play needed to get the allen headed bolts started in the head unit. I think the belt length is 39.5 inches.

For a 3.3 pulley try a 4060400 (length 40 1/8?)I was running that belt with the 3.4 pulley and the MMS pulley with good results. My advice to you would be buy booth try em both out and see which one fits best and take back the one not needed.
Hope this helps you get some boost showing on that guage. Speaking of gauge when I put my guage on back in the day I had the boost line all messed up and it would only show 2psi, once I fixed my goof it was showing the 6psi my lil powerdyne put out. maybe?

Thanks Jammaster J and Noyzee
UPDATE WE NOW HAVE POWER! The new belt looks to be working wonders. The car has a ton of power off idle now, don't know about topend or where boost is sittiing as I got pulled over when doing the WOT drills on the city streets those damn sneaky motorcycle cops, burnout length 99.6ft=Court Date 11.03.03

oh yeah cam maker says the car needs to be idling at 950 in gear, not the 850 it's idling at now, PCM has to go back to Ed W. I dont know why he went so low, he had my B1 idling@925?
