Default 800 RWHP

Im working on a 70 Nova, I will start with the engine. I have a .005 over LS1 with Ross flat tops, Manley rods, stock Crank, Arp head and main studs, Federal Mogul coated bearings, Childs and Alberts rings, 237/242 .595/.595 115/115 hydrolic roller cam, stock lifters, comp pushrods, Rollermaster Timing chain, 6.0l heads that flow 303int/227ext,O-ringed,with .050 Cometic gaskets, about 9.2:1 compression, 80mm throttle body, sheetmetal intake, custom fuel rails, aeromotive pump and regulator, -8 feed -4 return, my own design headers with custom turbo collectors, 2 Precision PT54 turbos at 16 psi, 2 turbonetics Deltagate external wastegates, Blitz electronic boost control, 1 Greddy Type S BOV mounted on the sheetmetal intake, LS1 edit, 150 lbsh fuel injectors, two spearco 24*9*3 inch intercoolers.

The guestion is do u think this will get me over 800rwhp with a T56, Spec S4 clutch, alum driveshaft, narrowed 9in with 5.13 gears, 32*14.50 Goodyears, 15*12 weld draglites.

I would like to be right at 900 rwhp with a small shot of the stuff.

What do u think it will run in the 1/8th at 2200ft and 2750lbs?

Nice project!!!

How did you calculate your compression, are those flattops 10:1's?

I think you can hit 800rwhp on C16 with an aftermarket computer system or a rigged up solution that uses a Pro-M MAF + low impedance injector box.

I think that a 5.13 is maybe overkill.

Agreed on the gears, unless you are planning on spinning the crap out of it.

it's for 1/8 mile it seems. great combo if you can get that 6 speed to hook. it's gonna be a chore, but it can be done. 2750 LBS in w/ a 1.50 60' should net ya mid-high 9's - low 10's in the 1/4 going to fifth gear. 7k RPM's will take you to 130 MPH. this thing should easily be trappin 140+ w/ a 4.56 and a 32" tire

shouldnt have a problem hitting low low 6's but should really be in the 5's in the 1/8. nice sounding car man.

BTW 70 MPH w/ that gear and tire puts him a touch under 1900 RPM's ;D sounds like a daily driver combo to me

-4 return? can you even adjust FP with a return that small? Maybe I'm used to carb'd cars.

If it were me, I'd run the biggest aeromotive pump w/ the controller, -10 feed, split to the each rail, then back together between the rails at the regulator; running a -8 return.

oh, and should the bov be mounted before the TB? isnt that what its for?

one more thing. JOHN LOVES C16! Every post i see, he recommends it. Its not the only race gas...plus its leaded.

Deltagates? Man, I would upgrade to at least Racegats with that setup. Those Deltagates will prolly bleed and spike with that much boost.

Seems you compression calculation is a little low if your pistons are flat tops. Are they set to zero deck height?

I am running a -10 feed to SSRacing billet rails with a -8 crossover, and -6 return.

I am running a Weldon 2025 pump and Weldon regulator.

I think my fuel system is good to 1000hp unless I run out of injector.

Well this is going to be set up for an 1/8 mile track since the closest 1/4 is three hours away.

I figure I will trap any where from 125-130 in the 1/8 so 5.13 with a 32 inch tire is perfect.

At 130mph trap that puts me at 6900rpms.

It basically like have 4.10s with a 26 inch tire.

I may decide a use -10 feed and -6 return with a magnaflow pump but the pump is over 800.00 and supports 2000 hp.

I may also decide to use TiAL gates instead of delta gates.

If I want to run 1/4 I can change gears in less than an hour.

The compression is calculated with flat top .008 out of the block, 3cc valves reliefs, .050 cometic gasket, and a 73cc chamber.

One more question what is the difference between mounting the bov in front of the throttle body or on the intake it still releases pressure. please explain this to me.

I thought the point of a bov was to release pressure after the TB shut...as not to revert pressure and try to stop an impeller going 50,000rpm. If you look around, most are placed just before the tb.

My friend and builder Z8's (Chris S.) went 125mph in the 1/8th and that was a 8.90 pass.

He's running 95 lb injectors, Weldon 2035 pump and his base fuel pressure was at 40psi and he was running out of injector. I think his plan to is to increase the base fuel pressure but I think you need to think big with the fuel system.

Ok I guess Ill come up off some more money, and buy an outrageous fuel pump -10 feed -8 return, 150 pound per hour injectors for frpp, and an aeromotive regulator with Nasty performance rails.

Ryan I dont think u under stand me, I will mount the bov on the Intake for stability but there will be a hose going in right befor the tb. Maybe I misunderstood u or I just wasn't thinking.

Im hoping to get atleast a 5.99@12x out of the combo.

If I dont I may have to go to about 20 psi boost.

Keep the opinions coming I like ur Ideas!

You may want to go up to a Stage 5 clutch. Spec was saying the stage 4 is only good up to around 700 RWHP or so...
