I was told to put it before the intercoolers so the only time hot air was going through them is when you want it in the engine. No heat soak of the cooler. Are you going with the twin or a front mount intercooler?

Yup. No point to push hot compressed air through an intercooler to just dump it afterwards. Blow off the discharge before the intercooler and don't run it back to the compressor inlet like some off the shelf kits do - just vent it to the atmosphere.

I wonder how much difference it really makes. Next time the weather is nice, and I take my car for a spin I'll log my IAT's and compare to ambient. I personally don't feel there would be a significant difference, but testing would tell the tale. I have the twins with the original bypass. I've been looking into this recently myself. Trying to figure out where would be the best place to mount a larger bypass. If you want to go pre intercoolers with the twin setup the only option would be to make another tube after the supercharger and install it there (see pic). The problem with that would be a dust storm if the roads are dirty at all ,dirt all over the engine bay, been there done that don't wanna do it again. I've been considering mounting my new bypass (still haven't decided what I want to get yet), where the maf used to be.

BlkHwk,

Maybe you could run a hose from the outlet of the BPV and position it so it wouldn't blow a bunch of crap under the car.

I just wouldn't want to push any more hot air through an intercooler than necessary.

Thanks man. I had my bypass facing the gound and it did make a dust mess so I just rotated it on the flange so it points up to the washer fluid tank, no more dust cloud. Also from what SDCE told me when I bought the kit the smaller twin intercoolers are the worst for the heat soak compaired to the large front mount. When I switch to a front mount I still will try to mount the bypass before the cooler.

The pic I posted is one I took off the EPP site. I currently have mine vented to atmosphere pointed up. That works really good. The only downside to doing it this way is you have to be very careful while washing the car.

I was going off EPP's racecar. They have their race valve mounted up where mine is too. I have seen quite a few cars with theirs mounted after the intercooler. Will it make that big of a difference?

I originally bought one of the "off the shelf" intercooler kits and they had it plumpbed after the intercooler. When I got rid of it and had a shop custom make me a new intercooler setup, I requested that they mount it before the intercooler.
