Rob, go get the license runs done. You don't have to run 9s on every pass to get license, just show ability to keep control of car at times near 9s. If you don't go to Thunder look me up at Sema show.

Thanks Kurt. But we opted not to go to SEMA this year so we could make the Thunder race instead. (first time I've missed SEMA in 5 yrs)

I've got some calls in to our local 1/8mi track right now about getting me certified this weekend. We'll see what happens.

SSOOBlue, thanks for the kind words. Moss still blames me everytime his cars break!
Rob, we use the 28 10.5w on Ronnie's car for what its worth. Best 60 is 1.29 but goes 1.33 or better on most every run.

But we can't use "W" tires at the shootout. So any other good options out there?

Hey Rob I'm not sure on tires for you, but you can make your certification passes at the bend. I'm not sure about Ohio Valley because it's IHRA or at least I thought it was. All you have to do is get two signatures of people carrying NHRA 9 Second Certificates. If you want I can help you and try to get two people to sign off for you. I don't mind checking around if you want.

It was completely covered with what looked like mud. Pulled the tank today and it was literally full of the same stuff.

Guess somebody thinks they're funny.

Hopefully it hasn't hurt the pump and I'll have it all sorted out within the next couple of days. Either way, it doesn't look like we're going to make it to the Thunder Shootout. I didn't realize until tonight that they were going to enforce the NHRA License rule (my mistake). I don't have time at this point to get my license. Which REALLY sucks since I was skipping SEMA this year to attend the race.

Oh well...Harlan would have whooped up on me anyway....

At Rob's weight and his cubic inches he's not running in Outlaw and I have got to say I wouldn't either. It's of my opinion if a "shop" builds a car then they should run in the class their car belongs in, not Outlaw everytime. Like Stephen aka "Slomaro" ran in Modified Street at the North vs. South. In his cubic inches I'd have ran Pure Street P/A. That's just me though.

Brian, his post said that the w tire could not be used at the shootout, my post was that i think you can use the w tire in outlaw. If the w tire is illegal i will be watching from the stands.

I don't know man I never read the Outlaw rules because they will never apply to me. Rules are rules though so you gotta take the good with the bad.

He tried a few other passes and even this pass he couldn't build boost at the line. He sat there for at least 5 second each pass trying to build boost, but the converter's too tight. Thunder will be very interesting.

Whats your compression ratio?
Is this a 346cid motor???
Thanks

That isn't my car Shinobi, it's Rob Raymer's Single Turbo Z from Quarter Mile Performance, formerly LS1 Motorsports. I want to say it's a 9:1 QMP Built 346. It has a set of TEA 6.0L Stage III Judson Masengil heads on it and a custom grind cam. It carries 95lb injectors with a F.A.S.T. system with Cartek Crank Trigger and LS1 Edit. It's a 9" with 3.25 gears. BMR Suspension, ARE Tubular K Member, Turbo 400 Tranny with a Brake and a Neil Chance Converter. That's pretty much his setup off the top of my head.

Thanks Snake! I am trying to get a feel for how much boost I can run on my 346cid 9.66:1 CR motor. I followed everybodies recommendation and purchased "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell...it has answered a lot of my questions and is a good reference. Its funny the book says different things about CR and Cam Choice etc....but its info on Turbo aspects and ratios and what to shoot for are great. Rob's car is an example of some of the Author's statements that he would rather choose the hi side of the low boost threshold and make mid range and top end. I am curious Rob...I was looking at your other T88 project you have going on...where does the boost really kick in on that thing????
Thanks
