Default cam question

I am running one of 3 turbos. So I know that wont help you guys much. I am either running a s480, a t76, or a t88. I was wondering if this cam would be ok. I think/and was told my lsa should be a little higher. Any help would be appreciated. Here are the comp cam specs.

232/236@.050 Lift: .643/.646 110lsa, 109icl

Thanks,
Jason

Looks kind of big to me for a turbo car, most guys run a bit smaller and at least a 114 lsa, but I dont claim to be a cam expert

That's a very vage qustion. What size engine? Heads? Street or Strip car? What trans? The turbos you listed come in either a T4 or a T6 exhaust housing. More info is definatly needed.

Might have problem with valve float under boost. Thats a lot of lift and turbo cars tend to float valves if you don't have the headroom from the springs. I went to 590 lift with 1.8 rockers on my build with afr 8019 .650 lift springs.

Also most turbo cams are higher lsa..115 and up but do see some cars running lower lsas with pretty good results.

Duration looks fine. Some argue for normal split, some for no split and some for reverse split and some say it depends on your specific setup.

You can make pretty good power it seems on just about any cam. Cams are going to have a big effect on powerband though and area under the curves.

If it was me would likely run similar duration to what you have with say 600 or so lift and 115 to say 117 lsa. Also depends on how often you like to change out valve springs and how much lope you like in your car. I didn't want any lope. I don't like changing out valve springs. So kept lsa high and lift reasonable.

first thing you need to do is figure out what turbo you are running-each one of those really requires a different cam-that cam you got wont work right with any of them

"The low lsa cam also isnt best for your turbo, it will bleed off boost and not give enough gas flow velocity till the upper part of the RPM range"

Thanks that is kinda of what I thought. I want a lumpy cam good for turbo. I will decide what turbo I will run and then find a decent cam to match it.

so a 228/228 on a lsa 115 will bleed off boost more then a 228/228 on a lsa 119
