dd 370 or 408
Is a 408 worth the extra cost over a 370 11 to 13 psi on boost do the gains justify a crank bigger blower, intercooler, for a real d@d

I will be running a 408 with a D1SC on my new "streetcar" build. I was told that a 408 would be a better dd setup because it would make more torque under the curve. Plus I believe you can make more power with less boost on a 408 because of the extra cubes but I'm not 100% postive.

Is this turbo or super. Turbos bigger motor will improve spool up. improve power off boost and thruout the power range ,torque will of course also improve and as said you can run less boost to make same power as with smaller engine which can sometimes be a good thing.
Also of course its better to have a forged crank but stock cranks are actually pretty darn strong.
I am impressed with my built 408 its very powerful with lots of bottom end off boost and its seriously kick *** on boost.
I was originally going to a 427 but the 408 is plenty for any sane street car. Already have major traction problems.
But if you are on a tight budget then the 370 is ok too.

I went with 370 with a procharger in hopes of being able to put the power down and actually use it more effectively on the street. You will have more torque then you know what to do with on the street with a 370 already, depends what kinda performance you want while DD'ing and the size of your tire fund.
