Default Fuel problem fixed!

Man I have been racking my brain the past few months trying to figure out why my fuel was dropping off at WOT. Well today i founbd the cause. Faulty Walbro fuel pump. I swaped it out today and did a few test runs and everything worked perfectly. Granted it was raining out so I couldn't build up much boost. But my FP raised with the boost. Hopefully at the end of the week I'll get to test it out in dry weather and make sure it continues to build FP with the rising boost. But I'm one very happy camper to have finally figured this issue out.

Special thanks to Ramchargers for working with me to get a new pump under warrenty. Also thanks to Mighty Mouse and rice_etr for their help this summer. I was able to rule a lot of stuff out with their help.

Now it's time to have some fun with this nasty toy

I'm having a similar issue right now, my fuel pressure is dropping off under heavy load, just started about a month ago. It seems that when these pumps die they go slowly, at least it still works for now and I will be replacing it over the winter when the car goes away.

Did you also install the the voltage boost harness with the new pump?

Are you referring to running a line directly to the alternator, or a boost-a-pump setup? Well it doesn't matter, cause either way it's a no. I'm still running off the stock voltage. When I upgrade my lines and fuel filter I'll run all the wiring back there to run right off the alternator and get everything ready for a second pump.

Glad to hear you got the beast going Mike. Those kind of problems are a major pita. Thanks again for helping with my fp install. The pressure is steady now at 60psi all the way up to 7000rpm.

RICE ETR, Hey bro, I'm always down for a good road trip I think Michelle is coming up here in a few weekends for mine and Lee's birthday party. You and Dave should come with her. Plenty of room, and plenty of alcohol Thanks for the compliment on the sig, my first one on Photochop7. You should have seen the last one. When I went down to OC I got the same response from everyone. "Hey so you're Buschman, I gotta ask ya dude, who the hell is that chick in your sig?" hehehehe it was mint!

Crunch, You know it borther. My week is turning out great. Monday, fix nagging PITA fuel problem that had been naging me for months. Tuesday get offered job position with company I had been interviewing with for the past two weeks. Come Monday I'll be earning a reliable paycheck again, no more contract work. So I see some dyno time in my future followed by a few trips to the track in the nice cold air before the season is over.

I was planning on hitting GB this friday, you game?

PhenyxTA, No problem, glad to help. FI might be a PITA, but we are a tight knit group and I think we all try and help each other out as much as possible. Speaking of which, thanks for the COG system link at RPMOutlet. That is a sweet setup and very affordable. It's funny I had talked so much **** about not having any belt slippage on my napa belt. Only to have it slip it's *** off this past weekend That link will come in very handy when I'm ready to boost up.

I'm having a hell of a week

Thanks guys,
Mike

Congrats Mike on everything. Let me know when your b-day party is goin on. You know I'll be there! Also, I need to run a direct voltage line too. I can hear my pump go up and down with the turn signal going on and off. lol.
