Question 2-3/4in log or 3in

I`ve decided that i`m going to rebuild the log on my TTi kit and was wondering if It would be better to run a 2-3/4in or 3in log I`ve already measured and clearanced everything and it will fit. But it`ll be a little harder to change the plugs and I have to used 90* sparkplug boots. I was thinking about tucking the turbo up under where the alternator bolted in from the factory but figured that would heat the block to much. So i decided to stick with the log and just make it bigger.

Also has anybody removed the abs pump and converted it over to straight power brakes? is it as easy as removing the pump erasing the codes and installing a proportioning valve or is there more to it?

Why are you going to change it? You planning on making over 900rwhp?

The 2 1/2" log is more than sufficient. The 2 1/2 will give you greater exhaust velocity than the 3", without hurting performance. The only way I would go 3", is if I was planning on making over 1000rwhp. But that's just me.

Hey rob. The only reason i was going to do the log is because the turbo tech kit comes with a 2 or 2-1/4 inch log don`t remember for sure. But i figured even a stock motor could gain HP from a larger log even if I only go to a 2-1/2in log. What do you think? But I do know that my log is smaller then 2-1/2. So could i benifit from the larger log or do you think the 2inch is suficent?

Hmm...I thought the TT log was 2 1/2"? If not, then I can understand the change. 2" would be a little on the small side.

I just went out and double cheaked myself with a micrometer and yes it is definatly 2inch. So in your opinion should I go 2-1/2 or 2-3/4in. the way i think is i`m redoing the log anyway so might as well make it the way it`ll be most efficent and make the most power. Thanks.

MYturboT/A can you keep me/us updated on how much that is gonna run for the upgrade as I am curious about the same thing. If you do this yourself, when your done could you give a gustimate of how much it would run. Thanks.
