Default put me on the list

New best time at the M8 event this weekend at stanton. Not quite what I was hoping for, but an average traction day at stanton wont cut it at my raceweight and tiresize.

I ran 11.068 at 129.05 on a spinning 1.678 60'.
Launched off the 2 step at 4500, track wouldn't take any more.

previous best was 11.21 at 122 and a 1.53 60' and a slipping clutch.
so the car definately has a 10 in it.

full slip looks like this:

60' 1.678
330 4.697
1/8 7.177
mph 97.65
1000 9.302
1/4 11.068
mph 129.05

Also I had run almost 101 in the 1/8th, that same day. So the car was definately pulling hard on this run the 2nd half of the track.

2000 Pontiac Formula !ws6
Incon TT stage 1.5, 10 psi boost.
made 503/518 on a mustang dyno in MI at 8.5-9 psi before 6.0l heads.

Stock Shortblock, Stock 6.0l heads, rev springs, comp retainers, comp pushrods, LS6 intake and 42# injectors.

6-speed with a spec stage 4 clutch.

DTS 12 bolt with 3.73 gears and rear TA cover.
3" chromoly DS with HD yokes 1350?

MT ET streets size 26/11.50/16 on chrome stock 16" wheels. at 14 psi cold, no tubes or screws.

Race weight is 3860 with me in it. I have done NO weight reduction, all passes made with spare and jack in the car, and frt swaybar hooked up.

exhaust is an slp loudmouth with no cats after the Incon manifolds.

I also have BMR subframes, DS loop, torq arm, and STB. QA1 shocks and drag springs, SLP pan hard bar, and metco LCA's with relocation brackets.

Nice! Your setup sounds quite similar to mine, except I'm still running stock heads. Was this on race gas? And was the 503/518 on racegas? What timing are you running?

Also, I just installed my 2-step and will be trying it for the 1st time tonite. How much boost will it build?

Thanks guys, the dyno numbers were on 93 octane. I have about 14* of timing at pk tq, then it ramps back in to about 20-21* at redline. A/F on the dyno was put at 11.5:1. we leaned it out to 12.5:1 but saw no HP improvement, so set it back to 11.5 (no knock in either case).

I run around on 93/94 at 10 psi on the street and get no knock, but at the track I did mix 50/50 104 and 93. Just to be safe.

I am always too busy to see exactly how much boost the 2 step builds, but I think its only at about a pound or so at the line. Which is still way better than just free revving the motor. Also it will jump to full boost MUCH quicker when the clutch is dumped.

I have tried it on a sticky track without it, and it can still bog a tiny bit at even a 5500 rpm dump. Untill you get turbo spool, its like launching with stock tq. or maybe only a little bit more. probably less than 350rwtq.

I still havent tried my 2 step, I just rev the **** out of it, and step the clutch. Im sending my 2 step back today, Harlan is going to fix it. I dont think i'll have it back in time for any racing this year, but we shall see.
I might take a week off in a couple months and drive to florida, If that is the case i will try racing at Desoto. If not 2 step will have to wait till next year if Gen7 doesnt take its place over the winter.

Thanks for the info, Rod.

I ran at the track last nite, the 2-step on mine builds 2psi . . . but as you said, much better than nothing!! I only got to test it to 4300, Wednesday nites here they don't prep the track at all so I was having traction issues. I also noticed my timing is as low as 14 like yours, but I only ramp up to 17. I'm thinking I may have some hidden power there . . . I'm getting no knock at 10psi and 91 octane, but I'm also running water/alky.
