Starting to get some more pictures trickling in. Here are some from the other grandstand side. This was on Rich's arm drop qualifying pass. Ran a low 9 on this one, pushing water again, this was 13.5 psi of boost. I was a street car in a sea of race cars in this faster car field. I am sure I took this Nova by surprise!

I saw your car run, and didn't put 2 and 2 together that it was the car with the sick header build. damn. I would have liked to see it in person. I am with you about all the race cars though. There were not that many "street" cars. Well, anything that could drive more than 15 minutes in traffic anyway.
I had my car in, but my computer crapped out while in line to get teched. Bummer, I never got to make a pass, not that it would have been fast as I finished the turbo build at 2am friday morning. DOH!

I had noticed that too from the pics, so I went over to the car, and sure enough on the passenger side there is a little witness mark. A little clearenceing and maybe tightening the shocks hopefully will take care of that.
It didn't push until 17 psi the first time, and that must have boogered up the gasket, and it kept pushing each pass even at 13 psi.

The car is on the lift, I will try to get the engine out in the next few days and drive the stuff up to Shawn, he is about 5.5 hours from me. It looks like we will have 2 blocks to take to him for prep work another turbo 6.0L build for a C4. If I can get this motor to seal up 18-20 psi I think I will be able to meet my goals of 8.50's. I wasn't planning on meeting that goal anywhere this soon, but hitting 8.80's in April, in 75* temps shows promise.

I believe the concern is that with the stock pan the pickup tube is in the middle of the sump,not in the back of the sump, and second there is no baffle in the pan to keep the oil from going up the back of the block when you launch, and then the oil just stay's in the back riding up the back of the pan until you decelerate. On turbo's car's, the return oil is gravity fed back into the pan, and then you end up with a slow oil return and the oil going up the back of the block and you have no oil for your pickup tube, which will starve your motor for oil. I could be wrong, but on YB.com there is a big write up about stock pans and drag racing. This happened to me, so i chose a aftermarket pan, and the pickup tube is in the back and the pan is also baffled to keep the oil in the sump.Cheap insurance!
