I'm originally from the honda crowd... that's how i got into boost...
Now i run a t70 with a t56/LS1 setup in an S10.
Blow off valves, Wastegates, and Intercoolers are pretty fool proof....
No where have i seen anyone blow an engine and 100% blame a faulty IC, WG or BOV.
It is just a simple canister, with a spring, valve, and diaphram. Pull the knock off's apart, and pull your name brands apart... No real differance.
It's like buying walmart sneakers vs Nike's... Even those Nike's are made in China.
Will those name brand Wastegate's pay to rebuild your broken engine if you can blame the wastegate?? doubt it... it's business.

So a 60mm or 55mm wastegate is ideal.
On a small block, like the 5.7 LS1, a 35 will do the trick...
I'm only running a single 2.5" pipe into my turbo from headers. A 35mm wastegate is in place 6 inches from the turbo flange, so i have no problems with boost creep.
Just think... smaller engine, smaller Wastegate... UNLESS you have HUGE piping. If i had 3" piping, i would run a 44mm gate.

However, my 5.3 is sacrificial, so if it pops, I could give a fvk. I guess I will be the guinea pig for knockoff ebay stuff, lol, since I could buy another 5.3 shortblock for the money I saved buying the X02 instead of a Tial....

There was a demonstration on their Ebay ad. As far as no diaphragm, I'll let someone else explain it. This is the only WG I have ever handled up close so I could not point out the differences. It just looks like a big valve in there.
