I know their kits start off sub-standard, but with the right amount of customizing and homwork, and just plain WORK lol, rear mounts seem to do alright. just take alot. yeah other setups are better and maybe more cost efective in the long run, but who ever said going fast was easy. thats one thing ive noticed about the motorsport thats kinda disapointing is that inovation and fabrication in hotrodding (thats what we all really are doing) has lost its spark. Everyone wants to just bolt it on and go. Some time thats ok. Its become more about the Name brand though then the hobby lately. when that happens the hobby gets stale. A little hard work goes a long way and inspires others.

No that's why I'm saying DON'T buy the STS kit and DO your own minor fabrication...

I'm doing what started as an sts kit on mine but changed out all the shitty parts... so far, so good on the wallet... hopefully it stays that way for a while. Thanks to a lot of people here on tech, I've been able to see what works and what doesn't. I'm not aiming for huge amount of power, just as long as I enjoy the car is all that matters... "frost" thanks for recommending alky control for methanol kit. Its expensive but well worth it...

truth be told as am I. Im researching all the problem parts that come with the STS system. Such as the injectors.. Thanks for recommending the right size for me Frost . Also doing the other stuff like Tbolts, PCV inprovment (proper check valves are only 10-15 each), better turbo, intercooler, and other little things. CAnt wait until my return gets here.

My STS is on the way. I have played around with two of them and they were both fine. Some people are just set in there ways, I guess. You dont have to buy there entire kit. I did not get the Injectors, Tuning, Fuel pump, or blow off valve from them.

A very big plus of the STS system is that nothing under your hood will be destroyed from all the heat. No melted plug wires, no melted harness, etc... the STS kit can be had from mild to wild. Just like all other turbo systems. Of course the price will reflect in major upgrades, Just like all other turbo kits.

IMO, All the turbo kits out there are priced rougly the same if they are in the same power range. Ive never seen a good turbo kit go for less than $6000 new so the STS is def not over priced. good luck to all you guys that purchase an sts. Im looking forward to mine.

460 on just 6lbs of boost? thats pretty bad *** Thats about what id like to start out with. As of now, i went with other upgrades until next year for a turbo. Still getting all the supporting mods for my car before i dive into the engine and its power adders.

No intention of stealing the thread here guys, but rather than start a new thread for a simple question about STS kits I figured I would pick a thread about STS that was already made to ask in.

I've been interested in the concepts of STS kits and have seen them on several vehicles online, but a big thing I like dual exit exhaust pipes. Is it possible to have dual exit pipes with an STS kit? I saw a video on youtube of a guy with a rear mount turbo and the dual center exit which was really nice but I don't know if it was STS or not.

PS: I don't have an LS1 yet, just going preliminary planning haha

A few people have done dual exit pipes with rear mounts. You could split the exhaust pipe from the wastegate but that would probably be a bit of a pain. Check out ZL1killa's rear mount thread in here. He did what I will probably do.

Quick, easy, and looks good.

Nice guys! I never thought about fake dual exits and dumping the exhaust from the rear mount, thats quite an idea and I wouldn't mind that. I just love the way dual exhaust looks. I'm a sucker for symmetry lol.

20TA02 - what exactly is different between current kits and the old style you have?

I want to say that the old systems have the intake filter right next to the wheel, the charge pit isnt turned into a Subframe, and the blowoff is located some where else.

The new style I think has the new snorkle kit that puts the filter up in the wheel well, The charge pipe is tuned into a 3pt subframe, blow off is located better, MAF is located better, and intercoolers are intergratd.
Dont quote me but thats what i gather form viewing STS sites and forums over the years.

Yup, plus it has the pipe coming out of the wastegate,
I also made my maf up front instead of under the car, and upgraded the **** out of everything. Lol

As for tips issue, i was thinking of doing somthing like SLP LMs exits were it y's off in the same general area and then out the respective bumper outlets.

unfortunatly i hade already installed LT headers before hand and didnt know better. Unfortunatly i left my stock manifolds in the states so im stuck with them until i get back. But i still want to do turbo.I figure i wrap it for now and deal with the velocity lose for now.
