im in the same boat as dan here i have a becool in mine also, what im going to do is add the filter to the vent and when i run the thing at the track ill take off the inlet hat

I could never do that.. as clean as the track is one stray rock and your blower is going to hate you.

Taking the inlet hat off at the track is pretty safe. The inlet to the blower is tucked up behind the radiator, up above the air dam, and 2' behind the front of the car. A rock would have to bounce straight up to even have a shot at hitting the impeller.
