Question Cant find what turbo to use (???)

EDIT: CANT FIND THE TURBO TO USE (???)

Hey guys! I've been reading here all the good info for turbo newbies like me, but have not found what I am looking for. I'll be building the kit myself. I have found all what I will need to turbo my LQ9, but my question is: what turbo to use? I went to ask "Saint Google" about it, but he came with all kind of mapping and math stuff that just cunfused me more.

I want to know what turbo I need to buy, that will let me keep my engine internals stock without blowing them, and getting as close to 500 rwhp as possible, or more if possible. I do not know how much power you can make with this engines stock. I want to go street.

Someone recomended a T4, but when I look for T4s, it comes with all type of different inlet and outlet circunferences and other stuff.

What is your recomendation experts?

get a 70, if you want at least 500rwhp.. Its a very streetable turbo
76 gives you room to grow if you want to ever upgrade internals

Go with a TC76 for 500-750rwhp and then move up later to an 88 if you plan to get stupid with. This has been done on this board by many.

Thank you guys for the advice! For what you wrote, I guess stupidity will start growing (even more) on me once I get this first small turbo huh?

I'll start looking for that TC76. Wish me luck!

By the way! It is better and cheaper to go turbo than supercharged right?

Turbo chargering IMO, is not cheaper than a supercharger build, but is more enjoyable in the end..

Dr. Turbo sells the TC76, I would start your search by calling him.

Turbo kits generally cost more than Supercharger kits.

for 500rwhp you can go with a nice heads and cam set up and save a lot more money than going turbo for youre goal. if u plan on build the motor and boosting more later than go ahead but if u plan on keeping it there theres no point to spend all that

i would agree, its not for the " tight *** " of people turbo builds... im only half done at 500rwhp and im up to about 13AUD ( bout 8k US ), and thats with no labour, just me building it myself! and i havnt even cracked open the motor yet. ( 10k more )

im a firm believer in spend the money so u dont have to spend it later... buy good quality first ( take ur time and save ) and u will have minor probs, not major

This last 2 replays sounds like a smart way to go. I'm not saying turbo is not smart, but for this case it makes more sence. I am really new into all this car hp tech stuff, and I am fanatic of doing things myself. My plan with this car is definitely the street daily driver. I'm even planing to get rid of my other 4 cyl junk dailys and keep only this one. I love it! I love V8!!!!

I am considering the supercharger due to price, and maybe combined with some cam.... not sure yet. Please keep any good advice coming. I really apreciate it.
