Default Set up for procharger....

hey all, sometime within the next month or so i will be ordering my heads for the TA as well as a new cam and headers. i plan on using hooker headers into a Xpipe and dumps before the tires...from lane's exhaust....now i plan to get a procharger....

I need reccommendation on which procharger system you recommend....i dont plan to do the D1SC system probably just the P1SC.....but what should i get to go along with it? what do you reccomend for the fuel system? i was thinking about using the walboro intank pump.

I currently am running an MTI B1 cam in the car .221/.221 .558/.558 114
i want to go a little more exteme but not too much....something more in the .230 dur and .580 lift range on a 112 LSA.

what kind of boost would be safe, how would i go about getting it...etc?

keep in mind i have knowledge of anything that has to do with forced induction or fuel systems yet, so any info would be greatly appreciated. I will be doing tuning with LS1 edit, also what should i expect my air/fuel to be at when it is tuned right etc.

i really don't think a p1sc will be enough for you. i had a p1sc and upgraded to the d1-sc because the p1sc was too small.
then there is the issue with the heads and cam, your current cam is good. don't get the other one. on forcedinduction engines you need less over lap (numerically higher lobe seperation) so the intake charge doesn't bleed off with the exhaust.
if you are ordering the heads you should be ordering bigger chamber heads ( i.e. 6.0 heads ) to lower your compression and to help you run more timing with less chance of detonation.

for a fule system the walbro intank would be a good place to start, i had that and an inline aeromotive pump.
the walbro is supposedly good to 550 to 600 hp. you'll also need bigger injectors. i had 43 lbs / hr svo injectors. they worked fine and wherewith in acceptable duty cycles .

off course the most important thing to do after getting all this is a good dyno tune.

you should also concider an 8 rib set up , but i think all new ati kits come with them now.

hope i covered everything , any one care to add to this or correct any of it?

I would get the D-1SC for sure, you won't regret it, you will find yourself wanting to upgrade later on..

I suggest keeping that cam you have, thats a perfect cam to work with your setup for now, I got a 214/218 in my 372 motor, I will most likely upgrade to 226/234 later on down the road...

Defiently get 8 rib pulleys, you will fry the 6 ribs..

If you are interested I got 8 rib stuff for sale that I'm letting go for cheap...$200 ASP 7.85" crank pulley, and a 3.6" Reichard Racing ultra grip pulley for $75 all of this is 8 rib stuff, this combo is good for 9-10psi which will work good with a good tune..

I would suggest the D1 with 8 rib over the P1 setup. Also the 6.0 Heads. For a cam with the D1,a 230/236 on 112 would work great since it will bleed of some cylinder pressure.
For fuel I would get 55lb injectors, intank, and Kennebell boost a pump.

You could hit that power with 6-7psi if you wanted...

easily I was thinking H/C and 3psi to hit 450-500.
I've had a stock engine with 3psi run 415hp.

its good that you have the 12bolt taken care of.

43lbs injectors and a walbro will be just fine for that goal. the cool thing about this setup is that if you decide to go forged , you don't have to upgrade much , just a pulley.

oh and remeber that with heads and cam the boost will drop ( given all the same factors) from stock but power will increase due to more efficiency.

if i were you i would just ditch the FMU (fule management unit). just get bigger injectors and control them through ls1edit, instead of fiddling with the fmu the fule right ( i keep hearing bad things about fmu's).

are you ordering the tuner kit?

But a slit lift and duration with a 114 would work better. My cam is 224 228 581 588 114

you got me confused,
the tuner kit does not come with the fmu or a fule pump.

i would get the tuner kit and my own pump and injectors and tune it all with edit.
