so i finally get my ebay "ptk" turbo kit installed and when getting it dyno tuned at about 4200rpm i started loosing boost hp and torque, i was told it could be my turbo was to small for my motor. im running a t61 with a .68 ar hotside, (which is the cheap Chinese one that came with the kit) and a knock of tial wastegate. i was thinking that maybe it was because of the knock off brand turbo and waste gate and was thinking, maybe if i replaced them both with good name brands and got a mp t70 with a 96 ar i would hold a steady boost all the way up to redline, just wanted to run it by everyone and get there suggestions thanks!

 

yeah that is what just about everyone does with that kit

 

i would not risk my motor with that Chinese ****. master power turbos are the cheapest you can get away with.

and that turbo seems a little small, defiantly upgrade to a good brand.

4200 rpms.. thats about where vtec kicks in... maybe the vtec is taking too much air in?
