Default Sooo frigging pissed!!

So I had it... I had the run. I launched her harder and drove her faster then ever... it scared the **** out of me... It was alot faster than that 9.75 run... and I cant proove it.

We were at the "True 10.5" races and they were letting me "Test" inbetween rounds... Car was giving us problems with a bad O2 sensor and kept blowing off the charge pipe. But... there was the "one" run.... and when I got to the back end... I found out the track folks forgot to change the clock to 1/4 mile (from 1/8th for the True 10.5 guys). I am crushed...

Just to wet your whistle...

1.45 60' (My best ever)
Feathered the gas as it got a little wild on me (can see it in the data logs too) but still ran:
4.09 330ft
6.24 1/8th
114.5 1/8th

No quarter time... and the car hit 21lbs of boost on the back end... she ran out the back door... I have NO doubt that was my 9.40 run or better I was looking for.

Other then that we ran a couple high 9's but kept blowing off the charge pipe last 200' of the track....

And yes.. I will start a new thread soon with Vids and timeslips, etc...

Rear-mounts have come a lonnnnnng way... This car weighed in at 3845lbs with me in it!! and it still has more in it! PT88 has responded perfectly to anything we throw at it with the AMS1000... she still has more legs in her.

I would be sofa king pissed. At least you know you can do it again. Has anybody ran one of those G-tech things and seen how close they are to actual times at a strip? If you could calibrate it or at least have a constant known error you could use one as backup.

Keep chipping away at it. What trans are you running and are you leaving on a trans brake? I'm sure you are. How much boost are you leaving with?

Gtech's are all over the place, something fun to play with but not to accurate.

LOL PWN3D!

At least you got good launches. I tried LVMS yesterday for TNT and my best 60' was a 1.79 because I couldn't get traction. Peddled every pass. If it hooked the launch (leaving on 3psi instead of 8psi ) it blew the tires off 30-100' out.

10.5 @ 133 was the best I could muster. My best 1/8 mile of the night was a 6.9 @ 105 LOL

last time i was at the track and i used a gtech and the hyperpack
gtech was consistantly within a tenth but the mph was always a few slow
and the hyperpack was spot on

You think so John? With our boost curve and the fact that this car (as with most turbo cars) they run the second 1/8th better then the first we figured that was the 9.4 run... but I guess speculation is just that!! hahaha

9.75 will just have to stand as the best so far... I have vids of alot of the runs and will post them up soon in new thread. Have learned a drawback with the rearmount... hard to put an anti-roll bar in the back.... this thing twists the car hard... the 1.45 60' lifts the front left 18" or so...

Zombie... sorry to hear brother... I know what you mean. Our IAT's were 55deg higher this weekend then two months ago when we were running. Gotta love TX heat.

Thats nothing to get pissed about, thats racing, car appears to be 60 footing decent and thats 1/2 the battle. The power on the other end is the easy part..

With that 60 foot an 1/8 mile ET/mph it was a 9.50-9.60 pass unless you are making double the power in the 2nd half, only one way to know for sure. But one thing for sure is this isnt the time of the year to be trying for new bests down south

Hahah its been a while sense I have seen you post up on my threads KP... thanks. You are right about the weather that is for sure! If we could have kept the charge pipes on we would have had an interesting day!

We ran a 9.75 pass with a 6.326 1/8th... was thinking we could see two to three tenths of difference with the 6.245 1/8th. You guys know this game much better then I so I will take your word for it!! haha

Either way... I have my "9 Second rear-mount" which is what I wanted... we even had a 9.89 run last night that I 1.68 60' and blew charge pipe off ~150'-200' from the 1/4... so I dont think staying safely in the 9's will be a challange either.

Now my goal is the sub 9.42 to beat out that CARTEK GTO

Thats the advantage of a good 60 foot, I can let off and coast after the 1/8 and still run in the 9s, that wouldnt happen with a 2.0 60 foot.

Your goal (9.42) isnt that far out of reach, just get your 60 foot down some and add a little more power but I'm sure you know that. Whatever you do now to make it quicker will pay off when it cools off out. I dont even bother trying for new bests after June 1st around here, I just take the thing out once in a while in the summer and make little improvements here and there and try not to blow it up. And by the time October/November rolls around I'm ready to make some good passes.

Main thing is have some fun with it, a mid 9 second stock looking 4th gen is badass no matter what.

Definitely a 9.5x pass based on the 60' and 1/8th ET. MPH is down a bit at the 1/8" from what I'd expect to see but that could just be the heat cheating another good turbo guy.

If you hit and held 21psi on the PT88 running out the back end, you were probably looking at 150mph for the pass. Nice job. :bigthumb:

Still in Houston brother... if/when it comes up here you will be sure to know! We are still playing with some configurations down there at LMR... we really wanna see a 9 flat out of the car. Dont know if we will on this turbo setup at 3845lbs but we are gonna get all the juice out of it we can!

9.75 / 6.326= 1.54
6.24 x 1.54= 9.609

great job
