Default .68 ar or .96 ar??

im upgrading the crappy Chinese t61 that came with my turbo kit to a masterpower t70, only thing i was wondering was if a .96 ar hotside or a .68 ar hotside would be better. the rest of the car is stock except for walbro 255 fuel pump, 60# injectors, and mac exhaust with no cats, just curious to the advantages and disadvantages of going with the bigger turbo.

Wouldnt it only be a matter if you want a better flowing, cooler top end,but lees bottom end, or a trade off of more bottom end ,but less efficiency and flow up top? i would personally go with the bigger .

.96A/R......anything else would be a big backpressure problem. The turbine in that MP unit is already to small for a Ls based engine. No sense in handicapping the setup.

the .96 works great on my 6l. Tried the .68 first and it was crap.

How about 2 X .68 T4's turbines on a 403 front mount TT setup?

Do any of you see a problem with this setup?

Thanks,

ya they are the same price for the .68 and .96 so i figured mine as well go big or go home right.. lol whats the advantages of having a 44mm wastegate? i have a 38mm.. i heard that smaller wastegates are better for controlling lower boost(i.e. 5-10) and bigger one better for bigger boost (i.e 15-20) i only want to run about 8-10 lbs so a 38mm should be good correct??

You've got that backwards. You need a bigger gate if you are trying to control low boost. Think of it like this, all the extra exhaust you aren't using goes out the wastegate. If it's to small boost will creep up and exceed what you want it set at.

38 should be ok, but prob not much more to go with a 44mm and be done with.
A "Q" trim wheel flows more than the std "P" trim.

why would anyone want a "P" trim instead of a "Q" trim?

350rwh and 400rwt on a mustang dyno. but that was at about 4200rpm cuz then i lost boost and power, the turbo is to small and was a cheep shitty chinese one, at high rpms it back pressures back into the motor.. now im looking for a bigger turbo
