Thumbs up Found a boost leak...

I was gonna head out to get some daytime video of the car today and I was getting my A/C filled before. I stabbed it going up a business district street and it felt like crap, 5psi, felt like a pig. I hunted for a boost leak but couldn't find one and then found this:

I think it happened when I ran an 05 GT on the highway last weekend. I rocked his world but after I let off the blower sounded pretty loud, and today was the first time I had it out since. Pretty cool carnage . It is a solid too, I could barely squeeze it back together then it just popped open again, think ProCharger will warranty it? Lol.

I honestly think a REAL welder could handle that no problem.

Would be a lot better job than the 8 year old Asian kid that did it the first time.

ya take it to any welding shop, they would prolly do it for 20-50 buck, and then it would be better than new!

Ive heard this happens when you run too small of a bypass valve and the boost has nowhere to go.

I'm going to send a picture to ProCharger and see what they say, I'd like a new one.

50mm BOV is 4" from the plenum, that happened under WOT, I've seen what happens to a car with an inadequate BOV/BPV and it usually folds the TB blades back. Check out this video, you can see it expand like crazy and as soon as it is let off the gas BOV opens and the plenum shrinks immediately:

I tried that and and it didn't work for me because I wasn't original buyer......but I would just add supports into yours and weld it up....If you just put a new one on, the same thing will happen.....I even blew a small crack in mine with the procharger race bypass at 16psi. I re-welded mine at least 3 times before I put in the supports. I think it is necessary to have the supports in there for high boost so it doesn't blow up like a balloon.

Yea, I've seen that happen on quite a few of those metal plenums on here. I think AFASTYZFR1 has the best solution I've seen so far with the supports welded in. Another reason I went with my FMIC before mine popped
