Default turbo oil return on front timing cover?

Just wondering if anyone has possible thought of returning their oil return line to the timing cover for their turbo or has done it.

since i would have the harmonic balancer off and will be taking off the timing cover it would be nice to just drill and tap with it off so no shavings at all will enter the oil pan

Yep, many guys, including myself, have the drain(s) going to the front cover.
Just make sure that you leave enough room for the fittings.
A (-10) hose end 90* fitting will not clear a stock diameter balancer unless you go pretty high on the cover. I had to use a hard 90* to clear the balancer.

i have a question about that.. i was looking at mine the other day and with the stock balancer and the stock water pump it dosn't leave a hole lot of room for a fitting. can you pop a pick up?

I put mine in the front of the oil pan. It's a tight fit but it works great.
