Default Solid motor mount and rubber tranny mount question

i hear running solid motor mounts and rubber tranny mount is not good. what about running one solid motor mount and keeping the rubber tranny mount?

reason, i want to running downpipe from my turbo over the crossmember and with a solid mount i will have the space.

i have been getting away with it under, but i have the motor out now and putting in another and figured to do it now, rather than later.

Agreed...I don't know who comes up with this stuff. Think about it, if you're running solid motor mounts it's not moving at all (it's solid), so why would a rubber tranny mount be hurting anything. I know it made my car feel like it was shifting so much smoother.

Oh, I've been running solid mounts with a stock tranny mount for 2 years and not one single issue at all.

Ditto. I'm also running solids with a rubber tranny mount. It's actually recommended- if you run solid motor mts and solid tranny mount and get some chassis flex coming off the line, you can actually break the tranny if it torques enough. Running a motor plate is another story-all solid is ok including a solid mid tranny mount.

I would think if torque arm is still on the tranny it would rip the rubber mount even if you have solid or poly motor mounts. I have poly motor mounts. I have rubber trans mount and my torque arm is on my trans for another month or so. Then might go poly trans or might stay rubber since the arm will be on crossmember and with poly mounts or solid and arm off cant see how it could rip the stock mount. And stock mounts are quieter usually.

I agree with the shifting smoother. I have solid motor mounts and a enegery trannie mount on a umi tourq arm. I will say this shifting at 7k was a problem because I had to shift slow but now hell it has no problem going in.

The problem is when you try to run poly/rubber motor mounts and a solid TRANS mount. Motor twists, trans doesn't = broken trans lol.
