Yeah, maybe shoot for 16psi. I think I will be pretty happy even with 600rwhp for now. Should find out soon!

Lol! It's going pretty good. He's doing some SD street tuning now and also performing cold start tuning and such. I'll give you a shout later on.

Unfortunately not. Friday night he attempted to perform some mild dyno tuning but made 10psi between 2900-3200rpm almost instantly. Trying to get that figured out so he can properly tune it.

Should have some dyno #'s hopefully within the next few days. He did say the boost hits hard tho.

too much boost for an inital tune. he'd probably want it around 5-6 psi, then move up from there.

+1.

Just getting a little frustrated with the waiting game. Tuner has been real busy with other vehicle's which is delaying to process completion on mine.

I did talk to them today and asked if he could go ahead and tune on 10lbs, but evedently what is happening is the wategate doesn't seem to be functioning (which is baffle'ing, because it's mechanical??) which is allowing turbo to pretty much boost whatever it wants.

I'll keep ya'll posted.

what i did when i took it to SQR (super quick turn around time and awsome deal btw) is i let them tune it at the WG spring, and from there once i had that area tuned i started to tune it to the max (14.5) just needed to get a good starting baseline to play with

Pretty excited!!

Figured out that the JGS wastegate was shipped with the wrong spring (12lb spring).

Tuner called me with some info on some early dyno results.

1st Pull, 14 deg timing, 11.6 AFR, 5psi, 4k Max Pull
415rwhp @ 4000rpm
rwtq unkown

2nd Pull, 14 Deg Timing, 11.6 AFR, 5psi (boost creep to about 7psi by 6krpm), 6k Max Pull
520rwhp
490rwtq

This was also dyno'd with my 4.10 gears still installed.

He will be doing some more tuning tomarrow, adding some timing and boost and should hit 600rwhp no prob on 10psi!!!!

Guess my home made junk worked!!!

Should be picking it up tomarrow after work, I'll keep ya'll posted on more dyno results!

Thanks bro!!!

Man, I am stoked! Even as it sits now it making 100rwhp/120rwtq more than I was making n/a. It's always a good feeling after building something it actually works decent. I am going to talk to him tomarrow and see if I can talk him into a 15psi pull.

I will keep ya'll updated tomarrow with more dyno results.

ya see if he'll do a 15 psi pull just to see! lol I just wouldn't push the stock ls1 shortblock that hard to long! Mine died at 9psi after a while (but my compression was way high and cam was a horrible cam for boost, I killed #7 piston ringland).

My bet is 780hp at 15psi, lol.

forgot to ask are you running a single walbro? or dual? I read 550 is MAX on a single walbro......

Yeah, I've heard of running 15psi with a stock lq4 since the compression is lower than ls1/lq9. Just curious what it will do, but he will probably be leary to try it. But I for sure will get a good 10-12psi pull.
