Look up or down a couple threads for the silverado05's build thread. In one pic it has a pic of the feed line fitted above the oil filter and the return going back into the pan.

i gues i kinda answerd my own question so ill help by posting up a round about answer for drill bit sizes for 1/2" NPT bit sizes. I found a pretty detailed chart conversion.
IN decimal
11/16 = 0.6875
45/64 = 0.7031
23/32 = 0.7188
so id assume any of these inside that range will be exceptable.
Also for future reference for 1/8npt for those of us that like NUMBERS on our drill bits, I resently tapped my turbo compressor for an 1/8 NPT. i used a 11/32 drill bit to accomplish this. worked out PERFERCTLY.
heres a complete list of NPT and drillbit size chart i found. hope it it helps
To Tap This Size Pipe:--------Use This Drill Bit:-----------Closest Fractional
--------- Decimal Inches:
1/8-27 NPT------------------Ltr.R or 11/32------------- 11/32 ----- ------------- .3390
1/4-18 NPT ---------------- 7/16" -- ----------------- 7/16" ---------------- .4375
3/8-18 NPT------------------ 37/64" -------------------- 37/64" ------------------- .5781
1/2-14 NPT ----------------- 45/64" --------------------- 45/64" ------------------- .7031
Overkill but add it anyway
3/4-14 NPT --------------------- 59/64"-------------------59/64" -------------------.9219
1-11 1/2 NPT-------------------- 1 5/32"------------------1 5/32"-------------------1.1562
1 1/4-11 1/2 NPT-----------------1 1/2"--------------------1 1/2"-------------------1.5000
1 1/2-11 1/2 NPT -----------------1 47/64"-----------------1 47/64" ----------------1.7344
2-11 1/2 NPT --------------------2 7/32"-------------------2 7/32"------------------2.2188
(Recommended tap drill to use for 75% depth of thread)

It is a hydraulic quick release. I'm not sure what the flow rate is. It is the fitting removed from the STS oil filler cap tapped into my oil pan with extra saudering to ensure stability in the oil pan. You'd have to confirm with an STS guy who knows more than I do what size the fitting is. I spent a bit of time trying to find the exact spot this would work in, and there is only a margin of a few millimeters front or back to work with without bending oil lines.
