Default Hoping this solves some of my boost dip problems

OK... I've been saying I couldn't get boost up consistently. Some have said the bracket was flexing at higher boost/torque.

This is the setup:

I took the ATI bracket off and found this, where the idler pulley hits it as it flexes.

I talked with Jason Esher at Automotion Performance and he did me up one of these in steel. (I know, it's about 5 lbs. more, but since this is an experiment, I didn't want to spring for the harder aluminum just yet... more costly.)

I painted it with Cast Metal Alum (?) paint to keep it from rusting.

Once my Spohn Arm gets back to me, I will see if this solves my issues. Wouldn't it be nice if this solved ATI "boost slip" problems (check your bracket, guys). Kudo's to Jason for his willingness to make this piece happen.

Wish me luck!

I braced mine and it stopped the flexing, I will post pics of it when I get the setup back on its feet.....I just couldn't keep the 8 rib belts from frying....

That'll make a HUGE difference if it was the cause!

He should keep the template and sell them Who gives a **** about 5 pounds more weight when you can gain boost till redline without tossing belts!!

I'm not sure what he is going to sell it for, yet. This was a one-off to see if it solves the issue. I just got my Spohn Arm in today. I'll put it on in the morning and romp on it once I've driven it a ways and checked back under the car for the Torque Arm installation.

I'm thinking of going to a cog setup with Kenny, if this doesn't work. Jason already had a template for this bracket replacement, so I didn't need to let the car sit while I shipped it out to him and he got one made.

I started breaking in the new belt yesterday, so didn't romp it. I did my first retighten this morning. I only got a small area to try a quick punch to see what happened to boost. I saw 13 PSI without dip.

But... I will reserve judgement until I see a consistent level of boost thru a quarter-mile run and no belt breakage. My fingers are crossed, and I am in prayer.

BTW, Clay has that setup and from what I've heard, they have gotten it to work. From the times he's told me, I think he'd be nearly a second faster than me if he were at my altitude... we haven't talked in a while. I think he has the F1 or F1-R Blower, too.

2Fast4U2, I think.

I talked to Jason. He said he's confortable with about $175.00. That's cheaper than the ATI bracket hardware, so that's probably fair... plus no flex.

Well, I don't know how long the belt will last yet. But, this DEFINITELY works for the boost. I see at least 12 to 13 PSI peak at WOT. I romped it numerous times. I see I will need to add some more fuel. My fuel pressure is dropping back to about 51 ~ 52 PSI.

If I can get my Racetronics wiring in (hoping for more current to the pumps), and my injectors aren't maxed out, I'll be going to the track Thursday to see what happens. I was SO tempted to put it in while the car was sitting up, but I wanted to do the wiring only after I got a baseline on where my fuel was at (anticipating better boost situation), so I can see how much (if any) difference the wiring makes.

Upgraded lines, rising rate regulator and fuel rail are my next targets. (I hope I spend my next money on these, rather than broken components. )

Well, I haven't been to the track yet, but I can conclusively say Automotion Performance steel SC Bracket solution truly works.

I did the final tighten on my belt two days ago and hit the gas. I saw nearly 15 PSI so quickly, I backed out of it! Is belt slip a myth (at least where it is prohibitive of gaining boost) on the ATI? Is that bracket flexing on your setup? Have you bothered to take the bracket off and check the area between the bracket and idler pulley?

I'd advise you do so. And if you do see this, I'd bet money you will see the increase in boost you are expecting with pulley changes.

I may be done for the year. More power, more issues with the crank bolt backing out. Plus I am at 95% Inj Duty Cycle and a pressure drop from 58lbs to 51lbs at WOT. I don't have the money just before Christmas time to address all these issues before the tracks close for the dead of winter. I need to get another crank pulley to mate to the superdamper and pin kit I spent over $500 for. Better rails and lines and a Rising Rate Regulator.

Then, except for breaking stuff with all that power, I'm gonna call it a day. I think I should be well into the low to mid 10's in the quarter and upper-mid 6's in the 8th-mile, don't you think?
