700 HP, which block to obtain a safe 700 HP level?
So i recently hydrolocked my motor due to a flash flood and would like to build a awesome motor to put out about 700HP without bending the spending too much....
I would like to see if there was a way to do it without changing too much as i have the D1SC and the Alky to help with numbers.
This board probably sees this a ton BUT i didnt know which key words to use for the search LOL I got some pretty random posts HAHAHA! I was thinking of just building a low compression 347 with forged internals and running some decent heads but i dont even know where to start GRRRRRR. Any help would be amazing, and thanks in advance!

is this a J/K or for real??
I guess it could be done but for how long. Everything I ever read says that stock rods and piston dont go to far past 550-600rhwp. 700 I guess is feasable but with any tuning error or to much hard use you lose the engine quick.
If you plan on doing something else and dont mind grenading the stocker go for it, but if you plan on using this setup for a long time then I would forge atleast rods and pistons.

Thanks everyone!!! Awesome replys and it looks like i will be going with a LS1 but just forged so i can have some fun. I have been out of this posting thing for quite some time so thanks for not flaming me as bad as i thought i was gonna recieve lol. I wanted to go to the LQ9 block and forge it out but does that require alot of new parts to go along with it? OR is it pretty simple?

Forging the motor pretty much is just the rotating assembly. So no matter what motor you are putting the forged parts in its always just the connecting rods, crank shaft, and pistons. So it depends what you consider simple of alot of new parts.
Some of the parts you should consider if you want to make big hp are head and main studs, upgraded gaskets and bearings, and upgraded rodbolts.
None of these are real necessities (besides the rod bolts) but they do become important with the more hp you make.

sorry, LOL. Let me rephrase
Do i need any new items going from the ls1 to the lq9 to fit my car. Like intake? or sensors etc...
That was a horrible phrased question so i take full acountability on that one hehe. I do know any motor questions since i do have a ton of mechanical background but just didnt know what i would need with the swap is all. I guess this is where my research comes in lol.
stevied916........... what happened to the Norcal-lsx site? Im from there and used to post there ALL the time and BAM, i look and its gone?
