Just want to bump this one more time before I start a new thread about it, but what have people done for power steering lines, those that have changed them, how did you make new ones and what did you use?

I do have good news I tried to start the car for the first time this weekend, and it cranked right up, so maybe no serious damage to the wiring harness, idk if the coolant temp sensor wiring is fried or not cus I didn't have the laptop hooked up to look at the temps and it started smoking from the leftover PS fluid on the header wrap so I shut it down being I still haven't got a fire extinguisher yet.

and I swear I have the pics on my computer with the clearance and everything I just keep forgetting to post them .. maybe tonight.

The parts list for braided power steering lines is in this thread...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...t-up-faqs.html

There's an old thread, by Brains I believe, floating around with a kickass how-to for them but I don't have a link to it saved on this computer, maybe someone can step in and post it.

Bummer about the flaming PS fluid though, glad it didn't do any serious damage.

I posted this in the general repair forum as well, but I need some help finding the Power steering hose that I melted. No parts stores seem to have a listing for it. It is not the pressurized feed line but the return line that goes from the PS rack to the cooler in the upper radiator hose. I will attach a diagram to show the hose I mean.

Could just make them out of SS lines so it doesn't happen again. There is a writeup on here.

for the non pressure return side, just cut out the bad section and splice in a new section of regular rubber hose with clamps and couplers. I dont even run the cooler on my mustang swap

Updates: (This thread keeps dragging doesnt it) I did a full system check on the car with HPTuners, all my sensors seem to be reading and the melted wires apparently go to things im not using so .. ohh well.

I have an apt to get the exhaust ran this friday, hoping we can work something out to gain some clearance under the k-member and not add much back pressure, its pretty quiet now so im going no muffler for the time being just out the factory CME tips.

From there i hope to drive to the tuner and schedule an appointment. So with any luck Ill have some numbers and a driveable car around the first of next month .. I will keep this updated as things come up.

Get in touch with spintech, burns, or boyce industries and get you some oval pipe (boyce being the cheapest). You wouldn't necessarilly have to run oval for the entire length, but you could oval your way to where the ground clearance isn't so critical.

So, I got the exhaust ran, im I very happy with the way it turned out and the sound (no cats, no muffler, still out the CME tips) but now I know for sure I have some form or oiling problem, I was driving the car home and noticed when I shift right after a little acceleration I get a puff of blue smoke out the exhaust, only for a sec and only right after I let off the gas.

I dont think its the motor just cus it doesn't seem to smoke at all while im on the gas only when it spools the turbo some (I havent been full throttle yet, maybe 4psi) and I let off to shift. Seems like I have seen this problem on the forums before being something with the turbo and oil pump or oil return but cant remember..

Any ideas? Ohh and I have an apt to tune on March 6th presuming I get all of this worked out.

Also lets start a power poll .. make your guesses, 10psi and pump gas.

So far I have:
508
527
535 (my guess)
