I am building a 408 ci turbo or supercharger motor with a 25 or 50 shot to it to keep the intake temp down at the track. My question is How good is K1 stuff, is it worth a **** ? do i just spend the extra $$$$$$ for callies stuff. what's your thought?????????????????

Dont go cheap on internals, go callies, diamond, lunati, ect.

if you mean compstar when you say callies, I would look into the k1 stuff. talk to Tom at k1. he knows his stuff and will be the first to tell you if his products aren't suited to your needs. he was an engineer at oliver for many years....enough said.

I would go Compstar over K1, we've had problems with reluctor rings on two K1 engines and we'll never use them again. Bob

The reluctor rings were out of alignment, and the pick up couldn't read them. This was on two engines we bought complete shortblocks from Weber. One engine was already installed, we have to pull it back out. The other engine was together on an engine stand ready to get installed. We lost a lot of time and money on this fiasco. Bob

Interesting....I've never heard anything bad about K1 cranks & rods, but also haven't heard of many people using them either.

I bought a shortblock from Weber last summer with a K1 crank in it. After talking to a few people who had problems with their Weber engines I decided to send it to HKE and have it looked over. I guess we'll have to wait & see if there is any problem with the crank or reluctor wheel when they get into it.
