Hot pipes make no difference on the size turbo or how much boost it will actually make or hold until you get way up there in the HP like 1000 plus, as long as the flange is the same t4 or t6

Actually this kit that is the largest turbo you can run. If you run a larger turbo you are going to have to have the downpipe exit on the opposite side and run a small filter because of the location of the turbo.

This is pretty interesting..... looks like an okay kit for what you pay for it.

98Camarod what kind of numbers and track times are you putting down with your set-up? You can PM if you dont want it posted.... thanks.

No dyno numbers, but I ran 7.01@99 mph spinning on bald *** qtp's with 7lbs of boost.

Since then I've added a eboost2, 9", new et drags, 2 step and I'm taking out my performabuilt trans for a th400 with a trans brake.

i just dynoed mine, with A LOT of issues, it put 505 to the wheels at 10psi, the tuner was thinking more of the 550 range once evrything was worked out. this was with my 76mm .81a/r

i just blew up the motor though when boost crept to 15psi

ouch....I had my wife go with me after I installed my eboost2 to do some tuning. I told her to tell me if the boost went over 10lbs when I hit it. Well the damn thing went to 17lbs. I guess the only good thing is that it pulled alot of timing, IIRC it was 8*. I told her it felt weird, how high did the boost go? She says to me, "it went to 17." I got lucky with that one I suppose.

What power level is a TC78 good to? Enough to feed a 402? This kit would be perfect since its cheap, keeps AC, but I need to be big enough for a 402.

yea, i used a prototype wastegate they made (aka cheap)

i guess thats what i get for not buying a nice one.

im now doing a fully forged 408 with every stud/bolt possible ARP. should be around 750rwhp for the street. hoping to get in the 900rwhp range once i beef up the fuel system a bit.

i learned my lesson on this one. yeah camarod, its weird, i think mine spiked to around 17psi too!!!!

total carnage: 4 broken pistons, 2 bent rods, and the block cracked in 3 places. woooooooo!

NO! and the kit is not appropriate for those cubes either.

Use the kit for what it is made for, stock cubes.
