Default E85 OFI 370 up and running...PICs

Sweet! I started it yesterday and it came right up on idle, but was very rich (.81 lambda). It does not rev like I would like it to, but I am sure the timing table will need some work in order to take advantage of the new fuel. I am going to paste my tune in the tunning section and see what the experts say.

370, good heads, Comp Cam turbo cam 228/226, 597/574 on a 115, A BBK SSI intake with 80 mm TB, 57 pound injectors, Aeromotive Pro fuel system with a sumped tank. OFI turbo system, turbonetics t76 ball turbo, and tubular turbo headers.

Nice setup. 57lb injectors with e85 is tiny though. I'm thinking you will need to upgrade.

You are correct... I am going to get things worked out with 6lb of boost, then change the injectors before I turn it up.

Yep, Tiff will be happy. I am going to e-mail her and Brian this week.

I'm on e85 myself and depending on your goals you'll need a pretty good sized injector. I'm 100+ % DC at 15psi on my setup (900ish bhp). The fuel is awesome though, very forgiving to tuning and gives faster spool due to more fuel being burned.

Very nice, but .81 Lamba is lean, not rich.

Edit.. I shouldn't say its lean, but I tune to ~.735 at WOT. Not a whole lot of info out there on this stuff yet. So far I like the fuel though.

95lb injectors on the stock dead head style fuel system.

Pressure is 68psi base - 15psi of boost = 53psi effective fuel pressure. I just call it 50psi since I don't know exactly what it drops to under load.

BHP estimate is calculated off a 3850lb raceweight trapping 135mph. Even if the injectors have a little more left in them the dual walbros are only supplying around 400 lph and the injectors are capable of 480lbs/hr... I don't have enough pump for now.

Targeting .75 lambda on e85

Im coming up with about 740rwhp for that weight/mph which is about where i run out of fuel with 96# injectors and dual walbros...with e85. We can get well over 1000rwhp with c16.

Sorry, I was at .81 while at idle but I got that solved last night.

Thanks man. I have to replace the alt and install the evac system, then I will be ready to do some real tuning.

P.S. I love this e85 suff. it smells great out the pipe and is very easy to work with.

Awesome! I'd be tempted to go the E85 route myself too since there is a station here in owasso. Id just be hesitant of taking any trips out of town with it. Thats the part that scares me. Plus, having to double up my fuel system doesnt sound too appealing to me right now

I definitely wanna check your new ride out tho here soon
