3 of mine were faceplated, two were synchro'd... all broke the same way.. sheared the gears.

MM didn't think his lasted very long, lol. He said he was swapping trans almost every weekend and had a second back up trans to keep his car running.

Until then I need to lick my wounds so to speak lol. Thanks Chris

Hey did you get that twin setup sold yet? That thing is a nice kit. I might have to see if my buddy would be interested. I can't promise anything but I'll talk to him.

The longest I have had one live was ~300 miles, the faceplated ones lasted about 1 quarter mile pass LOL

We had a local guy that was going through T56's at 1000rwhp, and then added a coolant pump to the front of the tranny...and it started living

Man you guys are some m6 killers. I'll keep ya posted. I have some more pics that I'll upload. I hit a snag today since I didn't have an extension for the dial indicator so I couldn't check the cam before I went on so nothing happened today. The name is Chris by the way. The user name I have is just something that stuck at the time with the bike and the car. I didn't really put any thought into it but it gets the job done lol. Anyways more pics coming your way. Thanks Chris

I hope you don't think you're done getting "wounded". Don't start licking yet. The misc adds up quick!

Default update pics

Here's a few of the build. Me and my brother (in red hoody) are assembling the lme shortblock. Got the cam in and the timing set. I hit a snag on the dial indicator. I need to get an extension so I can get down to the lifter to check the cam against the cam card to make sure everything is ground in right. Anyways here's some pics. I hope that I have thought of all the misc. You should see the pile of parts I have laying around. lol
Later Chris

Sorry for the quotes (fixed now). The forum would not let me upload anything. By the time I would have got the file size small enough you would have to use a fkn magnifying glass to see it. I don't know what the hell is wrong. Sometimes I can upload pics and other times I can't even get the search to work. Go figure.

Hmm different story from when I talked to David as he told me they held a little while it mainly depended on how many track passed he made LOL! Speedracerxxxx makes 950's and his has held pretty well after he installed a lube pump I was checking out his pictures of it pretty interesting read if you get a chance.

if it wasn't that bad, then why did he swap to a 4l80e if he liked the t56? LOL
Yea it will last as long as you baby it, but then what is the point?

the oil pump spraying the front gear/headset is the new thing that people think will keep the trans alive.
I don't believe in it that much because I have broke T56s in the first 1/4 mile of their life... it didnt have enought wear for the heat to affect the gears... just not possible lol

Oh I am not doughting that they won't live for ever I know that much myself, but mine hold up longer than some and I know I maynot be making as much power as some etc... And if I broke two or three I would be looking for a solution as well. I think MM swapped because he was looking for more reliability and a better ET, both of which an auto 4L80 will provide especially at the track. A T56 isn't going to hold to the constant abuse of track duty for sure, and I never said it would, but for the little street stuff I do they do last a while. So ultimately it just comes down to how you plan on using it. So all I am saying is a T56 may work for what he is trying to do, and that was all my point was. And the lube pump thing maybe the next fad, but he has already torn it down once and it looks perfect so far so who knows if it works for sure or not only time will tell.

Here are a few pics. I have several of Chris and Jeremy's components under Jeremy's album as they are similar setups.

Looks like you made a little more room for the power steering on that driver's side header. Should make plug access a little better on that side also.

Damn that looks good. I'm ready to get this thing done. I can't wait to see the kit installed in person. Looks good Josh. You da man. Later Chris

Holy crap man. I just looked at the rest of the pics you have in the album and I don't think there is anyway I could coat those headers. They are just too damn pretty to cover all that stainless up with a coating!
