Default best FI for daily driver.

Hey guys, never had an ls1 with any sort of FI so just wondering, other than nitrous, what would be my best bet for a daily driver with reliability and boost!

sts, procharger, magnacharger, vortech?

any opinions would be great, i really want an sts kit.

i have a 99 camaro ss with Lt headers, y pipe, borla, 3.73s.

Newer sts seem much better. Local guy runs sts for last few years at 5psi or so I think. He seems happy with it but does map put his routes do to ground clearance. Again the new kits seem better in many areas.

Front mount you got kentucky turbo seems to be the one to go to these days.
A used aps kit can be a good buy if you get some upgraded turbos from LG or possibly other places.
Ati prochargers are popular. Been in several of those cars. Pricey as heck new maybe some used ati kits floating around.
Or you can make up your own kit ebay style for front mount possibly even rear mount depending on how handy you are with welding, fabbing.

So far had rides or driven in sts lt1 and sts lt1. Ati procharged ls1 and lt1. And of course drive my tt front mount all the time. All can be very streetable and fun and give great power gains. Just don't get greedy on stock bottom ends and you should be fine.
and for sure get the tuning and fuel support you need to run them properly.
For low power just need maybe a racetronix pump and some 60 pound injectors.42 in a pinch.

I recommend the above ATI ProCharger kit.

Take a look at this link as to why I prefer it.

I would vote for the ATI kit for a DD.

I'd go with turbocharging as it will give you similar performance but will also give you good fuel mileage when your foot isn't planted in the throttle. In part throttle driving, you can hardly tell it is a forced induction car. My TT car feels bone stock until you get into the throttle firmly.

I've had turbo cars in the past, and SC cars.

I have had less trouble and more reliability with a SC car.

I'm currently running a Procharger P1SC twin intercooler setup and I'm extremely happy with it. With my only other mods being a t-stat, Borla cat-back, and EFI Live tune I went 12.3@114 in the 1/4.

Just out of curiosity...what was your reliability issues with your Turbo car?

FI in general is pretty cool for a DD because the power is always there but you dont need to tap into it unless you want...otherwise it drives normal.

I love my Turbo mostly because sitting at a light you do NOT know that the car has anything more than exhaust done to it...and that's pretty cool.
