I understand that it is cheaper than other conventional kits, that's a given. There is no intercooler, and no exhaust plumbing, so for $3700 you get a turbocharger and 14 ft of aluminum induction pipe?

Know its $3700 for the time he took to sit there and make every pipe fit with a damn machine , to find out what will work and what will not work in the setup, paying for him making it too fit it too your long tubes!
Your paying for the convenience of the bolt on setup witch he has come up with and the easy install, and easy removal
usnderstand that you can go make this yourself any of use could but its a conenience that its already done there for the taking
if you had to sell and make this product you would not want to just give it away for a $1000 when you now you put all the time and effort into it would you no
$3700
You get Subframe connectors with the kit!
TAIL Wastegate
Garret Turbo
14 feet of piping
3-4 hour install
509rwhp on 8psi
worth every damn penny!!!

So the STS kits are ~$3700 now?

How about the fuel side of the kit?

OK, anyone running any other turbo kit, please chime in and tell us how much you spent TOTAL, to include labor, tuning, etc etc etc. Hell, the LS1motorsports kit is $7+ grand, then theres install, and tuning, no subframes, no injection system etc....So, now...How many SC guys care to post up their costs for being able to run 8psi?

The kit sounds like more than a fair price.

ok i see a pattern with the turbo kits..

QMP, 7k btu to get it running some have gone beyond 11k ect ect ect. (11k and not dynoing 560rwhp even with the upgrade)

no installation fee (at least there shouldn't be) on the sts is a major plus.

Thats my point.

Like so many other new items this last year, Patriot Cyl heads etc... if things continue there will be a major revamping of not only prices, but customer service. Self installed Turbo kits, even if it remote....set a trend. Who cares if the turbo is remote if its making the nunmbers and cost is under $5k, loaded.

since i wasn't an enthusiast when the 5.0 came out..Did they have to put up with so much?

even the 4.6 has superior aftermarket in Fi...and usually cheaper.

more shops, more tuners more choices less headaches.

42# Injectors $300

Cooler Plug $3 each
HKS Blow off Valve $300
Boost Gauge $50
Fuel Pressure Gauge $200
Air/Fuel Gauge $50
$5624 And that just too get you started
woohoo looks like I would only need fuel pump, injectors, boost controller and the kit.-- I don't like the methanol injection system, awesome idea for the track but not for the street, kinda like Vortechs aftercooler

With labor that would be around $5500 if I didn't install it myself, best bang for the buck system so far IMO.

...assuming this kit actually makes advertised power. I wonder how much power it makes without the methanol injection on 8psi Head/Cam car with headers custom y-pipe.

I don`t think the 60-1 can make much more power then 500rwhp so
probaly around 525-550 pushin it.

Are you sure the kit even works? With the turbo so far back I don't see how there is any heat left in the system to spool it!

525-560 sounds lie a remarkable guess for only 8 pounds. I sure will be interested in the 1/4 times of these cars when they turn out. The dyno numbers, like almost everyone's (keep the customer happy) dyno number, seem really "pie-in-the-sky" to me.

$4,100's high for what you get, but not outrageous. The guy needs to make some money on buying and selling the purchased parts, and making the custom stuff. But the big thing is, this concept is not far above the talent level of a custom exhaust place.

If one wanted to duplicate it, I would think it would be relatively easy. I mean, to copy Raymer you'd need a real good place to make the header and the turbo exhaust piping. Not everyone lives next to one of those places, and if you did, it would take a lot of time and money to do one-offs. But this....what are we talking, some exhaust work, some intake pipe, and an oil system. Methanol if you want. Intercooler if you want. And you would be certain it would fit.

If I were inclined to have one of these, I'd just buy the stuff and make it myself.

the turbo doesnt get that hot under the car like it does under the hood.
And the gas tank has heat shelds your muffler is right there that gets hot not as hot but pretty hot and they tested the gas temp changes and there was the slightly hoter than normal when driving for a few hours but they promise it nothing to worry about

Hmmm no expansion tank on the oil return side of the turbo. Are you guys sure such a setup would work?

It's a neat idea though, I'm thinking about mounting a turbo in the back of my C5 now, lol!
