Default procharger

I'm in the process of planning out my 6.0(or ls1 not 100% sure) build/swap into a 86 mustang. i have a D1SC procharger from a previous build. its a standard rotation unit and clocking I'm not to worried about. but what bracket/tensioner are out there for the ls engine? i know in the dodge world the setup from procharger is very poor. lots of belt slip. how is the stock setup from procharger? is there different ones that went in different ls power cars? is there any aftermarket setups available? do they use the same serp belt? or do they use there own to power the blower?

thanks, Dan.

I think the d1 comes stock with a 6 rib belt setup. I would up grade to a 8 rib before you install it. The procharger uses its own belt, and for the 8 rib you'll need a ati harmonic balancer to bolt the pully for the blower on to. There are after market tensioners for the J blacket or you can do the "chevy chad" mod.

Since you are using a standard rotation blower, you should look into the new transplant kit. Also, the CTSV's, GTO's, and 5th gen camaros use the standard rotation, so you could look at them as well. I don't know anything about slipping issues on any of those kits, but they do make a COG setup with the transplant kit from procharger and on the 5th gen camaro that I know of.

thanks for that break down. with that pic it really does look to be clocked to the 2 oclock postion and that is how mine is now. have you used the gto setup before? is there any belt slip problems with it? so it looks like i would need the bracket, bracket spacer, balancer, crank pulley and crank key setup, i have a tial blow off valve ill reuse.

We don't typically encounter belt slippage with the GTO kit until we jump up to an F-1C blower. I have never tried in in a fox body, although we have it in this 2nd gen RX7 which is about the same size of chassis. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=22 Bob
