580rwhp/690rwtq on PUMP GAS....QMP Turbo...
We added an alcohol injection kit and a Turbosmart electronic boost controller to the project formula last night and spent a few hours on the dyno. Man was I surprised! I can't believe it...a bone stock 120,000 mile engine running 11lbs of boost on pump gas with alcohol.
The car drives just like stock until you're under boost. Through the full exhaust, you can barely even detect the turbo is on the car.
FWIW, when I was completely finished tuning it, we capped up the exhaust cut-out to see how much the exhaust actually hurts the power. Pretty much what I had expected. Through the full exhaust it lost 40rwhp and 47rwtq. The only good thing is, it's REALLY quiet. And even at at 540rwhp and 650rwtq, it'll pretty much hand most cars on the street their a$$, and they'll never know what hit 'em.
Pictures of all the current mods, including the new rollbar, are downloading as we speak. I'll have all of them posted on the website later tonight.

Rob if you dont mind me asking? How big is the turbo to IC and IC to TB piping? Just curious as I have a Turbo Tech kit and plan to upgrade to T76 down the road and will need to know what size piping is working the best for you. Thanks.

Very nice #'s Rob . . . what octane is pump gas there? You bested my HP by 5 . . . my last dyno on bone stock motor ( 45000 miles ) was 575/625 on 91 octane.

AWESOME numbers Rob!
Can you give us any details on the alcohol injection (how much did the alcohol injection help out? How much alcohol are you using? How much more boost can you run with the alcohol)?
Thanks!

Sorry, they canceled the race again (for the 3rd week in a row!) and closed for the season due to weather. Guess I may never know what it'll run in its' current state.
Chevy - We have 93 octane here. Nice numbers by the way!
InvisibleSun - I forgot to include that info. Thanks for reminding me! Actually, I couldn't believe how much difference the alchy made. I max'd out at 485rwhp and 8lbs of boost on pump gas alone. I say "max'd out", because adding one more lb of boost from there resulted in 4 degrees of Knock Retard.
After turning on the alcohol injection and bringing it in starting at 4lbs of boost, we had Zero KR all the way up to 11.2lbs of boost max. The extra HP also came from being able to add an additional degree of timing (up to 17 degrees from 16 on pump gas alone).
So all in all, I guess you could say that the alcohol "allowed" us to make an other 95rwhp and about 140rwtq more than pump gas alone.
We are selling this kit by the way (which I will have pics of on the site within the next hour or so). The kit sells complete for $399. What a bargain.
Since we have fully tested it, we are now also offering the TurboSmart electronic boost controller at $489. (retail is $529)
Hope that helps.

Thanks Rob! Are you flowing water AND alky, or just alky? How much? I just put a 15gph nozzle in my kit, haven't tried it yet. Also wondering if the pure alky is better than a water/alky mix.

Chevy, I'm running straight denatured alchy, no water. I'm no expert, but as I understand it, alcohol alone is better than alchohol and water. And I'm using the same 15gph nozzle on mine. Can't even feel the alcohol come on....very smooth.

Thanks Rob . . . I've been reading a LOT on this and have got conflicting reports, although the latest I have read confirms what you have tried. I am going to track test full alky vs a mix in the very near future . . . I can't feel mine come on either, it's very subtle.

That's friggen' amazing! I knew alchy injection helped but I had no idea it would do THAT much. I'm trying to get Mike Morgan to add this to my setup. We'll see...

That's the boost controller MM was running awhile back... definitely a sweet piece of equipment. He was also using one of the boost referenced outputs to cut the second fuel pump on.. i think...
I always wanted to try the SMC kit on my stang. With straight alky, how long does it last? I know it depends on how much you go wot... but anyone have some kinda estimate?
and nice shroud/rad support on the QMP car...
